Tinkers! And the problem with Goblins

The most anticipated game of 2020 is an RPG…

Also, you’re very off topic.
Tinkers could stack intelligence for all 3 specs and behave just fine.

They fit with modern class design just fine too.

That just shows you how starved people are for a good RPG. I’m only offtopic because you bring me there.

Look man you’re the one who thinks a class that uses Zombies and skeletons to fight isn’t a Necromancer

And you also think Tinkers should stack agility for some reason, when they are clearly an intelligence user… as far back as Warcraft 3.

That’s why your primary stat is Strength by the way. It was the DK’s main stat in Warcraft 3.

A necromancer is pretty clearly defined and its more then just someone that summons undead. You don’t just randomly make another class call it something different then claim it’s a necromancer. It’s not. It shares one thing in common with necromancers and that is it. Just because two things share one thing in common it doesn’t make them the same thing. Stop it.

You really just said that?
What else does a necromancer do?

Engineers don’t have anything in common with Tinkers but you seem to think they’re exactly the same.
No Rockets, no Turrets, no combat Mech.

Look up tinkerers, their core ability. Engineering. It’s literally Engineering. That is the hero class. Besides I just said that in retalation to show you how stupid it is to break something down because it has one thing in common.

Pocket Factory.
Missile Barrage
Engineering Upgrades (which upgrades your other abilities)
and Robo-Goblin.

Yes. You have to have mechanical aptitude to be a Tinker.
You seem to have looked over the part where Tinkers are also in a combat mech, throwing down turrets and firing missiles.

Obviously, Engineering is a part of being a Tinker.
however the Engineering Profession does not provide any of these abilities.

Engineering =/= Tinkers.
Because Engineering doesn’t give you any Tinker abilities from Warcraft 3.

At some point in time engineering has provided pretty much most of those things in one form or another. And could easily provide them again.

When? can you cite all of these things?

Also: Much more importantly, lets assume you’re right. They still aren’t a thing in Current content, and likely never will be because letting any class have access to those abilities would be a balance nightmare.

Necromancers are extremely unlikely as we have three classes that blend into their flavor already. Warlocks, DKs and DHs all are dark anti-hero themed classes. I doubt warlocks are going to be happy if Necromancers take shadowbolt or soulstones from them like the previous edgelord hero classes.

Something like the Tinker is more likely because it draws on untouched class fantasy. You can build it from the ground up without fear or need to take from other classes.

Thank you Nocht, you’re a breath of fresh air.

Yes. Tinkers are significantly more likely because they can be ripped straight out of Warcraft 3 without ruining other classes.

Monks blended heavily into rogues that didn’t stop them from being a thing. Demon Hunters are just melee warlocks that didn’t stop them either. I get you nay sayers don’t want necromancers but this tired excuse isn’t a reality.

No. They didn’t.
They aren’t even thematically similar. and they had 3 entirely different specs.

The fact that you just said that proves that you never played warcraft 3.
Demon hunters =/= Warlock.

No. We’d just prefer an interesting and original class.
Something loyal to Warcraft 3. with a bunch of new specs.

Monks and Rogues play exactly the same. Minus the stealth. You build up combo points using combo generators spending your energy resource to build the combo resource. It’s literally the same ontop of that it’s no different from Feral druids in that regard so it was the third class that uses the exact same playstyle and core concept. The only difference is minor asthetics.

Demon Hunters are Melee warlocks, so much so they even use Metamorphsis the warlocks skill  You are the one whining about using the past…well argue about current things if you want to play that game. Currently a Demon Hunter is just a Melee Warlock. They both use demon power.

Or can we finally agree that using the same power source doesn’t make them the same class?

You clearly don’t play a Monk, or you eat glue. I can’t tell. I Main a Monk.

Combo points are not the same as Chi. Abilities do not scale in strength with each point of Chi.

Mind you, Monks aren’t thematically similar at all to rogues. Which you clearly overlooked.
And of course. Monks can also be tanks and healers.

We don’t have a class that is Thematically or Mechanically similar to Tinkers…

That is such a minor difference. The interface for it is a copy and paste and you know it. It’s rather obvious the entire way it works was ripped directly from the rogue and only a subtle difference made. Say something like Plate vs Cloth.

Which I am fine with because those asthetic differences lets people play a different class fantasy. Which is the most important thing. You would need to be incredibly dense to not recognize the importance of the difference between Death Knight and Necromancer, if you can accept the difference between monk and rogue.

Not really. As a rogue you’re expected to use 5 combo points on every spender for maximum value.

On Monk all you have to do is meet costs and cooldowns at the same time.

Also: Rogues have Abilities based on the Blademaster and Warden Hero units.
Where monks clearly are inspired by the Brewmaster Hero unit.

2 Different gameplay styles, and 2 different Thematic inspirations.

And, both related back to Warcraft 3.

Meanwhile, Tinkers don’t have any class that is Thematically similar to them, and none of the classes have Tinker abilities from Warcraft 3.

Monk and Rogue are based on different units from Warcraft 3.

Death Knight, has All of death Knight’s abilities.
Which include Necromancy. As well as the Necromancer’s abilities from Warcraft 3.

Actually they don’t Necromancers raise skeletal minions and have spells such as cripple amongst others to debuff their enemies while their minions deal damage. Meanwhile Death Knights use ghouls and use their auras and melee attacks. I understand that it’s hard for your brain to comprehend the magnitude of this difference. I apologize for your inability to fully understand that.

You know that EVERY SINGLE Undead Hero unit ALWAYS Starts with the Wand of Necromancy.

Which ALWAYS gives you the ability to raise skeletons. Right?

Which is why DK… can use Skeletons…

You’re still arguing semantics. There’s no class that’s thematically or mechanically similar to tinkers.

And yet, That isn’t a baseline ability for unholy death knights. Infact it’s a terrible talent choice which makes you sacrifice a lot of dps to use.
