So in the event we get tinkers in this saga, what do you guys prefer for a combat mech like Mekkatorqe?
A static mech where you always fight in? Or as a major CD?
Personally id prefer a static mech as that would help separate it from engineering

If we get mechs, an always-active suit like Mekkatorque would be awesome.
However I’d be just as happy with the backpack exo-suits like the Warcraft 3 Tinker, Speaker Brinthe, Gazlowe from HotS, etc all have. As long as each race gets a unique one themed off of their race’s machine aesthetics, I’m game!!
I have advocated for Steam Warriors on several occasions on this forum, and with that said my answer should be obvious.
Addendum:
For the record, I’d certainly settle for such a thing merely being a part of a more generalized tech-based class; in fact, I somewhat expect it more. I just think there’s more thematic potential in a full class centered on Power Armor of different types, albeit one that’d likely be mechanically redundant, but that hasn’t stopped the devs before.
It should just be for the tank spec. I’m not a huge fan of mechs, but I know other people are. I mostly just want a ranged turret and gun based artillery spec, no mech for that.
Yeah this is what I’d like too. If it also includes the Warcraft 3 Tinker backpack exo suit too, I’m down.
If Tinker gets a full mech suit, I think something that obnoxiously large is best left for just Tanks lol
Yeah some kinda tank mech suit would be cool.
we will get tinkers in midnight because all signs are pointing to it. Now, in my personal opinion and only to start the expansion, I think the class is only gonna be available to smaller races simply because of sizing and scaling issues when it comes to the mech suit. as of right now, if you were to put either gnome race, goblins, or Vulpera in a large mechanical Mech suit, size wise, they would be on par with Tauren and light forged Draenei which is about as big as you want want to go when you’re thinking about other things like mounts or flightpaths unless they make the suit a mount of its own. however, it should not be restricted to just these four in the long run. And I’m hoping maybe eventually we will unlock race class combos so that everyone can play who they want and what they want.
Static mech armor you always fight in. GIVE ME POWER ARMOR DAMMIT!
… I’m sorry, I um, really like power armor. One of the things I loved about Fallout 4 was power armor.
What signs? There’s more signs now than before? Cause there’s been a lot in the past and nothing has happened.
I would want robo-pack like Gazlowe in HotS. Maybe the cooldown could be it transforms into a mech though.
I would hope for it to work like a companion/pet. I can summon it, choose to climb in or walk around it and tinker with it. What I don’t want is for it to feel like a Druid Form, an ability, or a mount. I want it to feel separate from me, something that I’m constantly upgrading and personalizing, and be emotionally invested in. When I’m about to die and a giant red button appears on my screen with flashing lights and an alarm saying “EJECT!!!”, I want to feel bad about ejecting.
In the movie Fury, when Brad Pitt points to the tank and says “that’s home”, I want that.
It should also depend on the spec. Steamwarrior has a perminant mech and Machinist has a backpack.
Give me the ability to transform into a siege tank! I’d play a ranged dps then lol
Prefer no mech. Just want a tech class that focuses on guns, grenades, flamethrower, rockets, turrets, etc. A mech would feel generic and lame.
I feel like mechs would also imply that the class would be race limited to gnomes/goblins because the size factor for a large race in a mech would be wierd. Limiting the races would be a terrible decision.
I’d imagine this would largely depend on the design. The Lightforged look just fine in their Warframes.
