Tinker Master Class confirmed

With everyone being a robot, there’s only one explanation. The dev’s are obviously setting up for Tinkers, the masters of the universe(s).

And here I thought it was setting up for Will Smith shooting everyone because they’re robots and likely corrupt.

I really hope not. I don’t understand the obsession with tinker. What is it you want with it?
Like, what kind of abilities are you expecting to see? And don’t say Mech. I need like 15 more examples besides the most obvious one.

I’d much rather see subclass system, such as Ranger vs Hunter, or Battle Mage vs Mage or Templar vs Paladin.

Or, even better, more specs, such as range dps paladin, melee mages (aka battle mages), gun slinger rogue, etc etc etc

Yes, Skynet has already won!

A DPS that uses a gun, pocket factories, and turrets.
Focuses on using different types of Ammo that benefits both them and their turrets while filling out DPS with cluster rockets and various gadgets.

A Healer who uses a Gun and Biotic ammunition to heal Friends and harm foes. Healing gas grenades and repair nano machines. Probably cleanses debuffs with a blast shower, or disinfection, instead of a lame “cleanse” spell.

And of course. A tank in a mech. Probably with shredder blades, and onboard repair systems.

Just a few ideas. Most of which come from the BFA island Tinkers that are already in game waiting to be used.

Nah, everything of that kind had been known to be a robot. Even dwarfs were robots who got turned “mortal” by curse of flesh.

Ugh.

Quote from one of the other endless threads on this subject

“You asked for Tinkers and you got diaper gnomes, take the L and move on.”

And yet there’s no technology themed class. Strange right?

I didn’t think people would have so much trouble with the difference between a race and a class….

Mechagnomes got added and I don’t really care, I already have races I like playing.
But a tinker class would be nice.

Not strange, wow is based on fantasy of more D&D and of the like settings, not futuristic robots and other gizmos(other then mechagon gnomes). The typical fantasy is magic/melee/ranged/dragons/cthulu old gods/strange other-world creatures/aliens/etc.

D&D literally has an Artificer class with a specialization called armorer. You straight up make mechanized power armor that you fight in, instead of using magic to cast spell, you produce all of your “spells” from gadgets and gizmos.

World of Warcraft has even had Tinker characters who do all of their fighting with Marvelous machines.

The addition of a tinker class would fit WoW like a glove fits a hand.

For starters, to have a class that represents Mekkatorque and Gazlowe, the only leader classes not represented as playable in the game.

I would like to see a healer that uses tech and acts like a bard, throwing out gadgets that buff, instead of lame songs.

A duel-wield gunslinger (makes no sense giving that to a Rogue, a class that’s supposed to be about stealth).

Or something similar to Engineers in Wildstar that had guns and mech pets, though that would probably cause an issue with Hunters. Turrets would probably substitute for pets.

Would also be nice to have another mail class, the least represented.

I’ve been a tinkerer for years thanks to the engineering profession. Only engineer actually sounds dignified and tinkerer sounds like something amateurs do.

And we have that, or had that at one point in the form of the mecha battle in BFA between the goblin and gnome leaders and the raid fight. The reason they don’t fit gameplay is because it doesn’t work. It would basically steal form every existing class and just “redesign” normal models like demons or hunter pets into robots that do stuff and if the robots die, you die. The whole concept falls apart outside of WC RTS series that doesn’t need them to be a full blown class with a full blown rotation.

Same. I’d much rather they give Hunters or Rogues a fourth spec to meet this fantasy.

Yes. It would great to have that realized as a class, since we see NPCs do it.

Shamans = Thrall
Druid = Malfurion
Mage = Jaina/Medivh/kael’thas.

We have all these great Tinker NPCs… but no class that emulates them. Kinda sad.

So classes aren’t allowed to have anything similar?
Sinister strike, heroic strike, storm strike, rune strike, heart strike, frost strike, mortal strike?

What about frost bolt, shadow bolt, lightning bolt? No?

The OJ glove

Mekkatorque didn’t look like an amateur in the SOO raid.

The bolts work differently of each other thought and are “elemental themed”, melee strikes have to share that in common because they aren’t spells. Melee strikes are as generic as can be. But tinker idea fails when you realize its just hunters with robotic pets and a mecha suit(which technically is guardian druid bear or DH demon form). I’ve yet to see any suggestions for a tinker idea that isn’t just hunters with a healing bot pet.

At least they wouldn’t have to steal from another class just to make 2 specs, Demon Hunter.
