Timing for casual like me to level

Let me know what you guys think about my metrics below.

911800 xp points by the time I’m 36.

I’m at 104 hours and am at level 36…

So lets say i play like 2 hours a night at 4 nights a week.

that would beeee 13 weeks, which is 3 months and some change.

3.25 months to reach level 36.

So that’s uh, 911800 xp points in 104 hrs.

8767 xp/hr

So to go i still have 3,172,900 xp points to go. At my rate of xp/hr, that will be 362 hours left to go.

so i know at 3.25 months i will put in 104 hours. So (362/104)*3.25months = 11.4 months to go.

so based off that information it would take someone as casual as me 14.5 months to get to 60!

so based off of this say i was able to improve my efficiency by 200%, would still take me 7.5 months to get to 60.

Should i just quit since we are only up for 12 months this go around?

You’re not factoring rested XP. I thought it was gonna take me 5 months given IRL to get this druid to 60. I’m 57 and started leveling this druid 2 weeks after the New Year

Just spam dungeons. It took me a week of dungeons to hit 60.

man I’d like to, I even went to go the tanking route but when it takes 30 minutes to an hour to find a group, then another 30 minute to get everyone to the dungeon. I would be lucky to do a dungeon in a 2 hour period.

A nightly 2 hour period.

Idk man. If u only got 2 hours a night hard cap then hitting 60 should just be the game for you. You shouldn’t be worried about raiding or much post 60 with that time restraint. Other versions of wow might be more appealing at that point.

If you want to maximize those 2 hours per night, then you will need to solo grind mobs/quests.
Even as a paladin.

The only people that really get to play or experience being level 60 are the people with low responsibilities or professional gamers.

I’m sure this complaint was big back in the day too which is why a lot of these changes were made over time but we still had 2 years. I don’t really think that it’s fair to casual players.

What server are you on?

your exp will scale, you won’t stay at 9k exp/hr for the entire journey, that being said i think you are definitely in the bottom percentile of leveling speeds, granted you are a paladin which are notoriously slow levelers

@ 104 hrs, most players would be around their late 40s in levels

I’ll be raiding, as a casual, used to be semiHC.

Just have to plan a quest/mob route effectively and just go for it; grinding mobs in between quest turn ins will boost your speed.

Grab 5 quests, complete all quests, grind rest of the level or close to end of level; then turn in.

No one on classic is a professional. But yes classic is very time consuming and people who don’t have that time unfortunately can’t play classic because of this. Retail was mad to cater to individuals like yourself who are a on a time restraint. You may want to try that.

Theres retail!

My vote would be that if you’re having fun to keep at it! As others have mentioned, your xp/hour will go up as your level goes up, though the xp requirement goes way up too, so not a 1:1 change.

Make sure to log out in an Inn for that sweet sweet rest xp too! It helps a lot.

Figure the server is time-locked, so there’s no need to rush to max level imho. I took 17ish days of playtime to hit 60 - no regrets! Was having fun.

NOOOO no no no… that’s trash. No expansion was ever done in a year. Don’t try to gaslight people into believing that if they can’t make it 60 in a year it’s because classic isn’t for everyone.

what’s at level cap for you that you don’t have at not-level-cap?

well it would be cool to hit 60 for once…

Way to take the fun out of a video game. Bunch of dweebs…

I never said anything about not hitting 60 in a year? I said leveling is the game for you. If u were planning on doing end game content with ur type of time constraints, then retail is currently much more accommodating while classic isn’t.

He can take a decade to hit 60 on Era that’s okay with us.

We are timeless.

That is another option for him. Era is great for people who really only want to play for the leveling and don’t have much time.
