Timewalking should be every week

What do you guys think? I really enjoyed all the Timewalking that we got just before 11.1.

Edit: Would even take take having Timewalking every second week.

I think breaks are fine.

I enjoyed Turbulent Timeways but it’s good to switch it up.

I agree I even made an 11 fury twink warrior with his so I hope to use him more often now!

I’d prefer not having it every single week, it quickly started to become the hot topic for drama and the content being focused solely on running easy queued dungeons or raid (or whatever Cataclysm is doing with its tuning issues) isn’t particularly exciting or interesting. There’s a pretty big variety of events to do and I’d rather not have one being active non-stop. A half a year of nonstop timewalking was more than enough for me to not want to run them

Kind of a tangent, but basically the same thing:

I don’t think Timewalking in its current form should exist as a standalone thing at all.
We have Chromie Time. It was introduced later and accomplishes a LOT of the same things.
There’s pointless overlap between the two features.

Merge them.

  • Chromie Time is now available to all levels (and is still available at all times).
  • Gem Sockets are either removed entirely from Chromie Time gear or removed from max level drops specifically. Depends if you want to hit twinks with a nerfbat or specifically be nice to them.
  • Any items that pop up and end up outperforming their ilvl to a notable degree at max level will be nerfed or otherwise disabled at max level. The intent is to allow access to this content, not to shift the gearing meta at endgame (even at the lower end).
  • Gear Drops are Normal Dungeon ilvl, not the half-step Timewalking currently is.
  • The Dungeon Completion experience rates are equal to Normal Dungeons, not the inflated Timewalking rates.
  • Currencies such as Timewarped Badges, Valorstones, and Crests do not drop (even at max level).

This is effectively normal Chromie Time but with minor adjustments made to allow max level characters to participate without potentially messing up endgame.

  • Rename this feature to “Timewalking”. Chromie Time is no more. It’s a bad name and no longer needed. Half the people I talk to refer to her Timelines as “[expansion] Timewalking” anyway. She can still be the access point - that’s fine.
  • The Timewalking Calendar event still occurs. Instead of allowing access to the entire feature, it simply buffs the always-available Timewalking content to what we’re currently used to.
    • If possible, this would only buff / enable these things for the single Timeline it normally would, but if not, oh well, it’s just a Timewalking-wide event now.
  • The Timewalking Event allows players to earn Timewarped Badges, Queue for the Timewalking Raid, pick up the “Complete 5 Timewalking Dungeons” quest (and the Raid quest), gives Timewalking Dungeons their current (inflated) experience rewards for completion, and gives Timewalking Dungeons their current half-step-up gear drops.
    • One might also consider allowing it to drop Valorstones and Crests during the event to make participation less pointless after completing the 5 Dungeon quest at level 80. Current Content of a non-trivial difficulty would still provide larger amounts and better crests.

I’d also like to see entering Raids be allowed while in Chromie Time / Timewalking. I’m not suggesting they scale, Just that the inconvenience of having to exit the feature before entering a Raid goes away. I’m sure there is a technical reason they did this, but I’m also sure it would be possible for them to work around it if they wanted to.

And as another convenience, keep Chromie herself (she works as a good intro to the feature + a thematic reason for it to exist), but have a UI Element somewhere to activate a timeline while in a capital – the same conditions as toggling Warmode. I understand not letting people mess with the scaling while they’re in the middle of a scaled zone, but we don’t really need to walk to Chromie specifically. It’d be like how there are NPCs to queue you for the Love is in the Air dungeon as part of the quest, but you can also just queue up yourself.

if it was every week that’s too many chances at normal gear.

No, then no one would do current expansion normal dungeons. It’s fine as is.

Maybe not every week cause people would bypass the expansion dungeons. Timewalking could be monthly like Darkfaire. TWing should be a valued thing something to look forward to.

Every other week… that would be nice.

Doubtful it will happen, but stranger things and all that.

They should do reverse timewalking

It is currently every third week. Starting back on 3/11 and then again on 4/1.

I feel like the current schedule works just fine.

Every week is definitely too much and every other week feels a bit much too.

Yeah I rejoined the game about 3 weeks ago and was having a blast with friends. Now that season 2 has launched as pile of nothing, we’ve all quit retail

Wait…is that like doing the dungeons in reverse order???

Interesting…:thinking::thinking::thinking:

You still can.

my now 70 hunter had a 11 twink druid in a U’K crew last night. I actually…never saw him.

that dude launched and kept going. I was doing axe getting quest and they did not stop. I bearly (pun intended) saw them kill last boss 2nd phase.

I wasn’t complaining. I’ve seen U’K many many many times. the speed carry was liked.

I would love timewalking every week. I know this is gonna make me sound like a boomer but honestly, for the last few expansions dungeons just haven’t been all that fun to me, they lack something that MOP dungeons and the dungeons in the expansions before had where I enjoyed them a lot more. I think that’s one reason I make so many alts, just so I can have fun doing the older dungeons in Chromie Time.

As a disclaimer, I don’t HATE the dungeons from recent expacks, and in Legion/BFA I did a lot of M+ with guildies. But the dungeons themselves just lacked something the older ones had where I liked them a lot more. It’s hard to articulate.

for me its solid rp to be there. Its not just loot roll runs.

I can like the RP as to why I am there.

Also coming from the few years of classic focus, I liked the switch ups in cata tw. the bosses whipped out new tricks. Cool as hell to me with (too) many runs in cata.

Timewalking and chromie time should merge into its own gameplay system where you can relevel characters for extra rewards (maybe tie it to warbands too).

There are some zones I really love to revisit… would be interesting to get to play through e.g TBC Hellfire Peninsula as a felorc and unlock the appearance (and voice lines) in outdoor content.
