Hey all,
Posting because I’m not sure if this is a bug or what is going on. I have a Guardian Druid which I haven’t played since BfA. Thought I would take advantage of the anniversary and TBC timewalking events to speed level. Levels 51-73 we were smooth sailing. I could pull a pack or two, big chillin, no worries.
Hit level 74… BOOM. Every single auto attack hits me for around 1/4th of my health. One pack of TBC mobs is like 6 mobs so I just get flattened. I was having a lot of fun leveling this way, but it seems like it may be over.

You get pretty weak toward the end of TWW leveling.
Most people complain about like 76/77+ though, not so much 74.

I recommend switching to normal TWW dungeons.

A character sitting since BFA is probably around 150 ilevel. Even if you upgraded your heirlooms they cap at 337. Level 74 expects an ilevel around 460.
If you are more than 50 ilevel away from that mark, switch to Tree, Boomy, or Kitten for the rest of the climb. Tanking will not get easier for the last few levels.

Yes, I ended up buying pieces to round out my Paladins levelling journey.
Elk’s tips and tricks for dealing:
-
seeing as the levelling process is still fast a couple of TWW phials will give you cracked amount of stat for your level (especially between 71-79)
-
crafted gear can go up to 521 and can be used from 71

As a DPS it’s pretty funny hitting level 71 and seeing damage absolutely skyrocket for that and the next 3 levels, and then immediately come back down to “normal” range once you hit 75. I’ve leveled two separate alts from 70-80 with BC timewalking this week and both had identical experiences in this regard.

My 73 dk tank was like paper in timewalking classic. Tanked the new dungeons just fine. Something is afoot.

I leveled about 30-something characters during the TW events and that was my experience too (for my lesser-geared alts). Gods from 70-73 and then just the worst 74+.
What was extra weird to me was that if you turned level 74 in the dungeon you continued to be a god until the end of the dungeon, and only turned bad until the next dungeon.
Yea, I would echo what others have said. If you’re wearing 200 or even low 300 ilevel gear, you’re just going to get wrecked.
My plan then would be to farm gear with quests or world quests (if you can) and queue as dps if you still want to do TW. Or try normals, as others have mentioned.
Good luck! It can be very frustrating!

And i join a random group with a level 10 locked level just go and solo the whole dungeon with the 80s doing next to no damage lol

Tip: Go to the timewalking vendors and buy some higher ilvl gear. I found the issue was you level so fast your ilvl falls behind. Buying gear really seems to help.

I just recently leveled a priest and I felt this scaling effect hit me right at that same range you mention. I went from cruising through dungeons barely pressing buttons while eating snacks with the other hand. To sometimes frantically needing to keep the tank and everyone else up at around lvl 76 lol
The fun part about old Timewalking was you didn’t need to focus on gear. Since you were leveled down you were pretty much always at ilvl cap, and could get the occasional upgrade from bags/bosses. The new scaling throws that into disarray, since now your gear always matters - but upgrades come much slower than experience, so at 70+ it starts to get really rough.

Once there was an 80 tank quitted dungeon because he constantly getting 2-3 shotted which frustrated the healer since he also try to pull more than he can handle
then an 11 tank joined and run all by himself soloing the same dungeon like its just transmog run
What an immersion breaker, even though im glad i eventualy completed the dungeon

kind of hard to do without buying it when the quests barely give any to begin with.
I leveled this Druid from 70-80 as resto in TW dungeons and at first my healing was bonkers. Rejuv was keeping everyone at full health it was like they couldn’t die.
Hit 76/77 and I was spamming regrowth with full hots and treants out and could hardly keep the tank up. At 79 it felt normal again.
Life stealing enchant is broken on level 11 fury warrior right now. They can just spam whirlwind and pull the entire dungeon as long as they don’t get stunned for too long
