Timewalking Queue Times

Brother. I can solo TWing dungeons as a 620 tank with pulls of 10-20 mobs. If you are getting stomped at that Ilvl on any class, you need to consider that it isn’t the game.

its not me, its the groups i get in when the main tank is a monk and the main healer is a monk, its a double kiss of death for some reason monk tanks/heals are just terrible in random timewalking dungeons.

My guess would be it’s mostly an end of the week thing. People have mostly finished up any TW quests or leveling grinds they were doing this week, I imagine tomorrow and Wednesday will be faster queues though.

Not to mention the classic TW is “less rewarding” than other timewalkings. (No hero loot chest, less badges on alts for quest item) That could be a contributing factor this week as well. I know a couple of my toons havent touched the dungeons this week cause I just don’t need anything from them.

I sat in q on my mage for 25 minutes before it popped yesterday lol. Genuinely never had that experience with timewalking.

opposite happened for me and a buddy who wanted to try Prot warr so he had a lil 25ish Warr tanking timewalking dungeons.

We get the warpwood one with all the big trees walking around and i tell him that if hes not confidant to tank 3-4 at once, kill the roaming ones on the top before going down the ramp.
So he starts doing that. no one but me is helping him they are all waiting near the middle of the ramp for that boss tree.
Impatient butthats wouldn’t put up with the delay in their XP/sec and kicked him for “slow”. I briefly considered aggroing everything and dragging it back to them but i decided to just leave the party.

He felt bummed about it and we gained yet another recruit to the “Never tank for the ungrateful PUGs” team

I think personally, it’s because it’s the 2nd week of classic. I stopped tanking over the weekend because I hate the dungeons they have in rotation.

That’d be my guess. Thankfully Lich King pops tomorrow.

Inspect them. I’ve been leveling a healer and any time the tank or DPS dies almost instantly, it’s because they’re using low ilvl gear. For some reason they think it’s the old TW and their ilvls don’t matter. A lvl 78 with 200 ilvl gear is horrifying.

I would be queueing to heal over and over again if the old scaling system were still in place. In fact I’m hoping that, after the reset, it will turn out that they forgot to turn on the new system in TBC timewalking

For me, TW dungeons have always just been a playground where you could abuse old borrowed power systems, special effect items, etc. The new system is complete garbage, because it removes what little fun there was to be had in timewalking and it also adds additional friction to the leveling process for no reason. The rewards are also worse than they were under the old system

Yeah, I have noticed this as well.

If I suspect I’m “stuck” in a the queue, I’ll leave and rejoin, and so far in the few instances I’ve done that, I’ve gotten a group within a few minutes.

…Can’t be sure it wasn’t just luck / coincidence though, but…given how buggy this expack has been, I wouldn’t be surprised if there is some issue.

There are several things that lead to long queue times. The main thing is the limited number of tanks that run randoms. As the week progresses the players that main as tanks normally do their runs Tuesday or Wed. Then players start running on alt tanks later in the week and thin out toward the end of the week. This means queue times increase as the week progresses.
The second things that affect it is if you are melee or range. The LFG system tries to not groups to many melee or range dps in a group. Other rules also try not to double up classes for the same role, thats why its rare to see something like 2 Mages in the same group. Finally it tries to mix the armor/preferred weapon types.
There appears to be a timer that if it can’t match the rules they become more lenient over time till it just fills the spots.
Currently theres more melee that play so they have slightly longer queue times.

no one’s doing tw anymore bc it’s bad

Thats what happens when they buff tw…i havent done a single one since the buff…

I did a few of them last night, all 3 were under 10 minutes, thankfully, so I knocked them out pretty quick. Seems to be all over the place though.

I’ve done some horseman runs the last few days and one character it’s like 3 minutes and another character it got up to 24, so I left and requeued and that got up to 20, so I left and requeued and that was like 2 minutes. The next alt was 8 minutes or so. It is never consistent for me.

Everyone stopped doing this because the dungeon rotation is dogwater

Nobody wants to do diremaul

Nah, Funny enough the DPS part pops faster for me then any other que. I only have to wait maybe a min on a healer and about 3 on a DPS. and no time on a tank, its instant.

People are spam queing these for bronze tokens. You should have no issues getting in unless its a bug.

Had the same thought, they chose some of the worst classic dungeons, only one that is remotely tolerable is Deadmines. All the others are just big cluster-f’s. Only way is could be worse is if Deadmines was replaced with Gnomergan.

Alliance and DPS, is it?

They’re just dead. There isn’t much reason to do them other than leveling alts. If you’re queueing as a dps you’re gonna be waiting a while.

Haha. I levelled a monk to 80 first in early access. Did 3 dungeons and immediately levelled a DK. I feel that.

I’m feeling this also. It says 3 min wait time and I am waiting 20+ minutes. Yesterday it was fine. Today and late last night it was taking forever.
