It would be awesome if you could timewalk in retail to play vanilla before cataclysm… So please tell Chromie to allow that …

we already have classic to do that. I agree having the new fancy high poly models and high ress creature would e cool. But people is alergic to change.
i would like to have a high poly model option for classic. but no, cry babies ruined it. lol

You could. However, in Wow Classic you don’t have access to all the other things you’ve collected over the years. You also can’t progress on to further content once you’ve enjoyed playing through “Classic”. It would be great if you could timewalk to Vanilla wow and snap out of it once you’ve gone through it. Classic WoW is reaching the end of it’s lifespan with the release of Naxxramas. It would be nice to have the option within retail since all the expansions are represented while the original WoW experience is not on the table.

It exists…play classic WoW. Also, its not the same. The “difficulty” is what made vanilla zones special, nowadays if they restored it on retail you’d blow through it and kill mobs in 3 hits.
yes, they do… it would be more for those who role-play than they could go “home” to life they grew up in… Also not to have to play both retail and classic would be nice…

Simple. Negate the effects of leveling gear. Scale the damage back to how it was in Vanilla. Everything takes a penalty. They have the people, they have the ability (they’ve shown us with artifacts and legendaries only working certain ways in certain zones). There is really no reason not to do it. I could understand when Classic WoW was new, not doing that sort of thing. However, now with Classic WoW at its end days, there’s no reason not to incorporate it into retail. Especially since they opened the door with Chromie for the other expansions.
I do RP a little bit on classic, and in retail. Generally I RP on classic when i use older character generally in the Classic-bc era.
but i hate the lack of races on classic races tbh, but we can do much, that is against the so call classic spirit.
You wanted the Vanilla experience, so that includes the low resolution graphics.

i didn’t want that awful grahphics. I wanted to play classic with high poly models, as an option it shouldn’t be that bad.
So you wanted the old game new? Honest to Bob, they gave you all classic, play it. That’s what the game was.
Now you want them to remake it shinier for you…

Entitled, for wanting more options, sure.
I am not saying that classic is bad as is. Just saying that i could be better for having more options. Maybe that way, i wouldn’t stoped leveling my level 30 pally.
I would be happy with a retail time walking vanilla … even if no flying …just so I could have those zones back. No one has any nostalgia for busted world Cataclysim zones.

They revamped Classic in Cata. This is classic, old code and all. The amount of time it would take to redesign it all to make it shinier, is beyond insane.
It’s funny, when we played it at launch, we didn’t get the raids as fast as you are or anything. You got so much earlier, because the community whined, because they never really understood classic WoW.
Frankly, I think you guys need more server DCs like we had. Tanks on dial-up, like we had. Oh yes and days of downtime. That’s the classic experience.

Classic was made over the bones of the 7.3 server and client. So it would have been easier to have the fancy graphics, and models.
I don’t even raid, on retail. I like to wander on the zones and do side things, it would be cool to do that while having my HD model in the classic client. Kinda like in WoD when you could have the old model and new models at the same time.
Also, i am not whining about down time. To me this last weekly resets have been smooth and that is.
Pretty sure he just wants access to the zones before cata. Plus WoW classic is NOT the same as what we are playing right now

Honestly, too much work. I’d rather them focus on NEW content, not something you can already see by playing classic.
No. Play Classic if you want Classic. That’s what it’s there for. It’s garbage, and it’s going to be even more garbage in the current iteration of retail, and the retail team needs to devote their development time to things that matter
