Not quite. TW used to drop the same gear as heroic dungeons. Now it doesn’t even drop gear good enough to ENTER heroic dungeons.

No it has not. IT has never dropped Heroic level gear.

Yes, it literally has. Not heroic RAID, but heroic DUNGEON, which is slightly worse than LFR. Or about 575 gear in the current patch, would be the equivalent. It also counts as a heroic dungeon for the vault. Same reasoning.

Specifically it was Adventurer 1 gear, and didn’t increase when they increased Heroic dungeon rewards in Dragonflight Season 4. But still better than Normal dungeon loot and no ilvl requirement to queue made it good for fresh max level characters.
It shouldn’t be 554 loot, it’s pointless at 554.

Incorrect. Time walking has always been stepping stone gear in between Normal and Heroic Dungeons. has been so since day 1.

I didn’t notice when they changed heroic dungeons to higher than Adventurer 1, but yeah, Adventurer 1 is what you should expect from Timewalking…not gear worse than Explorer 1. These people here defending 554 loot (when Explorer 1 is 558 and Adv. 1 is 571) are insane.
It also used to have “okay” starting gear for alts on the vendor, not the 541 trash that’s worse than a dungeon drop before you even hit the level cap.

The box for doing the number of dungeons is what is worth it. It is always Higher level gear.

Challenge wise TW has most always been a joke, the only time it hasn’t been is when Blizzard screws up the scaling.
Gear wise it should drop gear good enough to queue for heroic dungeons, and since it shares a vault row / same item slot as heroic dungeons, should probably drop the same (even if a bit lower like the first week heroic - but it shouldn’t be worse than WQ gear and useless to progress into heroics).
