Timewalking damage

I don’t know what has happened, but as a healer the Timewalking dungeons have become a health hazard. I’m so stressed for the entire 10-15 minutes that it takes to do the dungeon that I have to sit back and breathe for a few seconds and calm down. I know you can’t do anything about tank’s behavior, but tanks pull the dungeon like any other easy faceroll content you would do, and for them, it is easy, for the dps, it is easy, but for ME, I’m spending every single second blowing my cooldowns and throwing my big heals out because if I don’t, at some point randomly the tank will just go from 100 to 0 in 1.5 seconds flat. And the tanks don’t understand this, and there’s no convincing most of them anyway. I just have to brace for it and try to keep up the best I can while they pull non-stop until the last boss is dead. I decided to make this topic because I just did one of these dungeons and I needed to take a break to let my heartrate come down. I hope the classic anniversary timewalking dungeons aren’t like this or that’s gunna be a REAL disappointing part of the anniversary.

It feels like blizzard forgot to adjust certain enemy abilities when they were implementing scaling. The bosses deal normal heroic damage while random trash mobs will vaporize you with one cast. I regularly get hit for more than 100% of my HP meaning we can get instakilled without a shield up.

Blood Furnace has so many enemies that two-shot kill your tank, it’s absurd. BC timewalking is a NIGHTMARE if your group can’t deal with aggro swiftly because everyone just gets deleted by enemy casters.

Yeah, this is something very recent. I have historically leveled my paladin up to a current expack via TW dungeon grind. In all the years TW has been a thing, it has never been this dangerous/sweaty… NEVER.

It was “somewhat” danger-adjacent for the first cata TWs, but that got adjusted.

My pally does them as prot, for reference.

As a fellow healer I struggle as much. Everyone just die too quickly. But, funny enough, mobs are die even faster. It’s literally do or die when every pull takes 4-5 seconds and bosses with one phase just die in ten seconds or so.

On top, the scaling is so off with these dungeon. I cant even react cause my team literally goes %90 to 0 with one single ability…

I was tanking TW last night and there were a couple that were really bad, specially anything that had the Orcs as the main mobs (Blood Furnace for example).

Those ones were way out of line. I could charge in against 2 adds on my druid, and they’d have me at 50%, maybe 33% HP before I could even hit Frenzied Regen or Iron Fur. The amount of outgoing damage in such a short period of time was jaw dropping tbh, especially as it was TW.

I tanked five on my druid for the weekly and I was shocked by how hard I was getting hammered. I keeled over in a couple of hits on one pull. I think the intention is to make tanks stop pulling everything to the boss with no concern for whether it’s tanked or not.

However, I haven’t been more engaged during a tw run for a longtime. I’m usually bored stiff, but this kept me on my toes the whole time.

Maybe a slight nerf would be fair, but I personally much prefer it when it doesn’t feel like I’m tmog running Deadmines on a 80.

As a healer, you can go to sleep or grab a drink during boss encounters but you better bring your A game to every trash pull.

I have been levelling my Resto Druid using just Dungeons.
I have always just done Time Walking, and never had any issues.
However this is the first time I had done 70-80 via Dungeon spamming Time Walking.
Perfectly fine in the War Within Dungeons, so long as DPS get out of AOEs etc

However, since turning 70 I can no longer do Time Walking due to the HUGE damage output from the mobs. The first 3-4 were fine, but then I did Scholo and Deadmines.
Scholo was fairly intense, but nothing crazy. I did this at about 74ish.
I’m now 76, and did a Deadmines run. When I saw the load screen I was like, Hell yes! Cake walk dungeon. WRONGGGGGGG

The aoe ticks on some of the debuffs were something stupid like 21million damage over 17 seconds. Basically my healing output at 76 was 1/10th of the required amount.
I could have every HoT on, 3x grove guardians up and be spam cast heals plus swiftmends, and the player will still get smoked.

Make it make sense…

75-80 healing in dungeons gets really brutal. I have a holy priest and I noticed how low my healing was at that range. It only gets better with higher ilvls though. So keep grinding the dungeons and it’ll be easier.

Now as a healer I wish people would pull to the boss because it’s the only thing that keeps me from falling asleep.

It’s because if you level up via timewalking, your gear no longer scales with you unless it’s an upgraded heirloom. You level so quickly and get so few drops that you’ve got terrible stats for your level. Welcome to Blizzard scaling.
