Timerunning as part of rp

As we know, the Timerunning event is ending fairly soon. I know there were some people roleplaying during the event, but how many of you are planning on incorporating Timerunning into their characters story even after the event ends? And if so, how will those events have affected them?

I did some ‘flashback’ RP where the stuff was actually set (an indeterminate number) years ago during MoP. Was nice to flesh out some stuff.
i.e. we cosplayed it was 2012 instead of being time travellers

I feel as if I am in a post-mortal state, having gained knowledge and experience not previously available to someone of my own humble origins. When I signed on with the Infinite, I expected to cavort through history as if a bystander, seeing the acts and deeds of other storied individuals. I didn’t know that I would see such unlimited potential, gain such power. And now that the day soon comes where I must part ways with my new self… I find myself unwilling to let go.

What option do I have but to seek out other means to regain what I will lose, knowing that the mundane life I lead before is one I can no longer live? Am I doomed to the eternal struggle, always chasing after that feeling I once had? Will I ever feel it again?

The Infinite opened my eyes and now I curse what I have seen. I am forever damned.

I am gunna send a letter from the past to my future self warning my future self not to go back to the past and send a letter to my future self.

Not super serious about it but my undead died during the Darkshore invasion. However instead of waking up in the maw, it’s the Timeless Isles surrounded by Infinite dragons.

They knew immediately what needed to be done, find their alternate self and end them. They will then slip into the timeline taking their place and undoing all the mistakes they will make.

This is a good take. It’s a nice way to give a character legitimate backstory and then pop right back into the present.

This was also my approach tbh. All the RP I did, as far as I am concerned, occurred during MoP.

I do have a friend who RPed an infinite dragon, however, and while he interacted with people IC, he was from “the present” the whole time. Not that that was readily apparent.

My Goblin warlock’s story was that he was a chef who conjured the food – a culinary grifter of sorts. When he was thrown back in time, his magical ability got warped. He tried to conjure food and conjured an imp instead.

He had to embrace the warlock way of crafting cuisine – utilizing demonic kitchen staff.

I like how Goblins offer a way to incorporate ‘game stuff’ ICly, so all of this did happen to him ICly and he will be happy to return to the present, where he’ll continue his chef career.

I have no problems with people who incorporate timerunning into their RP. However, I don’t play anyone who would ICly have connections to it. I might say, at most, that Hiranaku went back in time to steal all the fanciest gemstones she could find.

Or locate her dead girlfriend and cry horribly, knowing they can’t really talk because alternate timeline Hiranaku would get jealous.
