Time to respec holy pala

I got my paladin around 50 as protection, it was a fairly frustrating experience, I found that more often than not going all in lead to mana issues and being mana efficient often leads to threat issues, couple with some boss aggro drop mechanics that make it impossible to pick a boss back up due to lack of taunt I figure it’s pointless to even try imo.

I already put together a basic int set that packs a little spell power, some int some mp5 stuff, I didn’t respec (yet) but I found I did pretty decent healing mara in full prot spec.

1/now just wondering how far can i go healing as prot before I need to respec? would be helpful to let the respec cost drop 1 before i do.

2/friend suggest I should absolutely respec holy now and start to spam lbrs until 60, is that a recommended thing ? will it be difficult with my basic set (and spec?)

Which 5 man bosses drop aggro?

one that I recall is the last boss in ST puts you to sleep, after sleep is disspelled even if the healer is snappy seemed impossible to get aggro back.

Im sure there are other bosses that do similar things like punt you up in the air and target switch, every time it happens its next to impossible to pick the boss back up.

Sadly the prot paladin suffers greatly from poor gear itemization. practically all plate gear is made for warriors. there are scant few pieces with int, spirit or mp5 which is what prot pallies really need.

curious about that, is the pala (unreleased) pvp gear fit for tanking ? it seem to be the only gear with melee stats along with spellpower, mp5 and int, seems like it might actually fix some of the shortcomings.

It’s surprisingly common, though I can’t think of any specifics. Aggro sheds in general are all over the place in classic.

I respec’d to resto during BRD and it was a horrible decision. Funny enough, it is easier to find a group as DPS than as a healer. Healers are currently a dime a dozen while you offer utility that other DPS do not have.

Leveling solo as a healer is also a horrible experience.

I’d advise sticking with dps and slowly obtaining off spec pieces when your healer doesn’t need them. BRD is filled with armor pieces that Priests can’t equip, BRD is filled with sham/pal heal gear it’s ridiculous.

Edit: Ah you’re prot. While I have not experienced your troubles, I would still point out that Healers have the hardest time finding a group.

I kind of got the idea that as holy if I got enough SP I could grind mobs in plaguelands since exorcism was finally usable

you can heal even 60 5 ppl dungeons in full healing gear with 0\0\0 build. Talents are not that big for that content.

Not exactly true. Well geared groups will push to clear faster and more efficient than other groups. An off spec healer often can’t keep up.

Pugs will take whatever they can. As long as you don’t tell them your real spec

Once i accidentaly popped up shadow form in middle of dungeon, they were surprisd

No pally pvp is only good for ret or holy

well I would be up for trying it but I wouldn’t want to put a group through a wipe-a-thon if it wasn’t upto scratch, but I already successfully healed a princess farm group so I guess I am fairly competent at healing

Sure but you will struggle a lot more than someone with a full 51 point spec’d for healing. To say otherwise is lunacy.

meh, 5ppls are pretty easy anyway. Unless your tank is also fake.

Just spec ret, it is a no comparable

its funny I got to 52 without trying ret, I mean I have seen a few in dungeons, they hadn’t really done anything special that I noticed.

It is more likely the warrior tank is actually fury, I suggest at least 20 point in holy and a cloth set. Completely abandon proct, make your life easier

You not playing it right, you should play like enhancements

There are a ridiculous number of healers lurking in LFG trying to find a group.

While it is possible for you to join a group as a healer while off spec, you may find that you don’t have the tools to keep up with groups who push harder.

I don’t advocate removing someone who is struggling when the entire group could adapt to the situation but if it was causing a lot of frustration, I wouldn’t be surprised if they were removed as Healers are very easily in supply.
