…The kind filled with bugs and dog poo or the fun kind?
Is that even acutal boosters? Or is there just a place where someone lists what’s on each server’s BMAH?
It generally goes something like this:
- Buyer sends booster gold cap + a boosting fee (e.g. 12 million gold total) on their realm.
- Booster keeps an eye out for an item and notifies buyer once found.
- Buyer transfers max level toon to realm
- Booster, who has a toon with gold cap on that realm, sends gold cap to buyer to cap the item on BMAH
They’re essentially selling a gold cap on a targeted realm, but it’s generally known as BMAH boosting.
If someone has more than 12M gold, the only thing that’s stopping them from just doing that themselves is needing to know what’s up on each server.
I don’t even know what this means. What is a “BMAH booster?”
Not really. Character transfers are capped at 1 million gold. I mean, I guess they could transfer 10 toons to the targeted realm, but at that point you’re at the same price point as just paying the booster, plus you’re putting the responsibility on yourself to keep an eye out.
Also wanted to add - there’s other BMAH boosting services that are actual pilots, but that’s not the intent of this thread since piloting is already against the rules.
Someone who is richer then I am moving to another server, buying up the items on the BMAH and making things more expensive then I can afford and now I can pout on the forums.
guild bank transfer. 10M cap.
Yes, depending on frequency. There’s a 30-day CD on guild transfers, and they’re actually disabled right now anyways to my knowledge.
If you know about this, then I can only assume you’ve done it before. Because this sounds like the most convoluted and expensive way to get some cosmetics that I’ve ever heard of.
And people need to seriously stop calling stuff they dislike “boosting.”
This is ridiculous.
You want to control what players are able to spend their gold on for no good reason and to an unreasonable degree.
Someone capping a BMAH auction is perfectly fine. If someone wants to go to the extent of going across realms to get a specific item. Let them. They obviously want it a ton more than an average player to go to that degree.
I know it’s tough to google “wow black market auction house boosting” to see for yourself. I typically like providing sources, but I’m not linking to the services because some are RMT, but it’s really, really easy to find these yourself if you want to do a small amount of research.
This was also a thing advertised in boosting community discords in the past, but of course the legit ones were shut down. It’s still something that should’ve never existed, along with PvP arena/rbg boosting, but the combat portion is a different subject.
Like, wow. I started playing at the end of mop, and even then people would laugh at someone who thought there was still a “neutral AH” that could be used to transfer between “Horde AH’s” and “Alliance AH’s” of yore.
Most of the BMAH sections in the communities were shut down at SL launch, over the level 50 change (at least, all of the ones I was a part of).
Pretty sure they were still a thing in SLB at least until they shut down. I know a lot of communities just ended up throwing in the towel when the Bruto bug hit back in July, but otherwise it was still a thriving business.
I’m really curious how people were laughing about a change that hadn’t happened yet. The AH merge didn’t happen until WoD.
I could also google flat earth exists and get tons of results too.
Again, mountain out of a molehill.
So what? And most of them were shut down, they “fixed” a lot of the RMT problems, but someone transferring and spending their gold is an issue now? You know these items will go to max, so bid the max first, that’s all it comes down to.
I really think you are blowing it all out of proportion though.
You abhor RMT, right? So do you think RMT BMAH boosting should go ignored, which uses the same process?
If you’re afraid of finding Google results that go directly to the service, then I only have pity that you are incapable of performing a very minimal amount of research.
Show me where it is still happening? I haven’t heard of it since the ban. And again, if I want it I bid max, so not applicable. So I would be your arch nemesis on BMAH let’s be real.
You really think it’s so prevalent, why are you the only one bringing it up? Why didn’t you bother when it was happening so much before the bans?
Is this just another Humanbeak bait thread?
I am working for one. For two if I was not, I wouldn’t be spending my time digging into silly WoW theories. So much more interesting stuff to do than live my life posting things to bring down in WoW.
