Sounds like it’s time for a in-game CAPTCHA dialog to be used when certain APIs are called.
The AH already has limits in place, but they’re per-user. If every individual has their own limits but there are simply a lot of individuals using the AH at once, it’s still going to degrade performance even if everyone’s using the AH ‘normally’.
People are forgetting that there’re just a lot of people using the AH at the moment. Whether there’re bots there or not, traffic is high enough that commodities are flowing in and out of the AH at lightning speed. Even if there weren’t bots posting and buying, there’re still potentially thousands of others viewing, buying, and listing that commodity at any given time. There’re obviously going to be conflicts/items being bought out from under you when this many eyes are on them.
I tried for 20 minutes to buy a green fishing rod on the AH. It kept saying “Error: Item not found”.
Yep time for TSM to go into the dumpster.

TSM uses a 3rd party app. That alone should get it banned.
Agreed and to the defenders of it. Afking bgs was okay till Blizzard made it actionable. Times change it needs to go

So what’s going on with the Auction House is an interesting tech problem, a well meaning and simple design change caused a DB table that used to hold 20-60k rows to now contain tens of millions. Not a problem by itself but we’ve got some code changes to make to support this new world we live in. We’re going to throw more hardware at the problem with maintenance while people far more clever than me work on actual solutions.

. The auction house addons should have been broken a long time ago. The fact TSM uses a 3rd party app should have gotten it broken. The ah is infested with Bots. These add ons do not do anything productive for the Community.
