Time to admit

Continuing the discussion from Time to admit that TWW is as big as a single patch:

While your points are valid I guess?
When do we all take a moment of reflection and ask ourselves what a Mmorpg is? Is it about waiting for the next thing in the next patch? Is it constantly asking for class balance constantly if our class isnt the fotm ? Is it relentlessly asking for more and more and more to be added within a giant landscape of a world to fulfill Our incessant need for MOREEE?
Or is it the slow burn of our nostalgia and memories of what world of warcraft was at its peek of enjoyment? Is it the community and Camaraderie built from playing and having no choice but to play with eachother and communicate to accomplish quest/dungeons/raids? This isnt attack to your posting in particular I just feel so many people are asking devs to move this game in a direction so far from its original structure. That WE CAN ALL AGREE was one of if not the best game ever created so far.

Like duh. That’s literally been every expansion. What are you all expecting some massive gameplay change? Like oh midnight is here now and wow is now a FPS game. We won boys, we really won

Yea i know , ez money for blizz keeping the same formula for 20 years lol

wow’s been following a pretty strict formula since Legion, not sure what else anyone would expect at this point. they’re not about to do anything substantially different when this is evidently still making enough money for them.

I don’t think ppl understand expansions , every expansion comes with 3 to 5 patches. The fact the title admitted the current content as single patch , so this expansion will have 2 more.

As far as your mmorpg goes, that died a long time ago as players prioritize reward over group dynamics , they want kicks/silence/ints to be automated than be communicated on int order among themselves

About balance -you can’t have class balance and class fantasy as the same time which makes stuff like arena champions , MDI and World first heavily skewed . Which is why these players keep asking for balance and homogenizing class they want blink to be like charge and so . Exactly the same, and thereby by boring.

Give me one end expansion log from classic to DF that show top performing spec and bottom one at a difference of 5 % ??? there is none , so expecting balancing to happen in future is silly.

If people are buying it and it’s still profitable I see no reason to change it. There’s only so much you can change or add to this kind of game

Ah yea didnt like 50% of players left in SL and Wrath had over 13 million sub then it all fell

Genre’s meant to be vague. All the wannabe youtube game critics on YouTube love preaching that MMO’s must have strict set of qualities, otherwise they aren’t a “real MMORPG” (usually paired with something they think is clever like ‘It’s just a glorified lobby’ as though you can’t make that argument with a bunch of games), as though as genre isn’t some loose set of qualities that you can associate with a similar piece of media.

It’s not that deep. TWW is fine.

To be fair, it would be amazing if we had actual RPG content, like social hubs world wide and actual emotes and animations
 like seriously
our NPCs have us beat in that regard.

books, movies, tv series, and games outside of mmo fall into the same thing as well.

Just post in that thread instead of creating bloat, it’s only got 107 posts as of right now.

No doubt OP is looking forward to purchasing patches separately, and paying as much for each one as a 2 year expansion used to cost.

are you another alt from that OP? come on read the room and stop trying the same flamebait threads.

They want to somehow feel the way they first felt playing WoW.

Before I get banned removed the latter comment, since someone may think it’s a serious suggestion.

WoW would benefit greatly from adding some RP features to the MMORPG, but as long as poopsock content like seasonal M+ keeps paying the bills I doubt they’ll devote any energy to it.

What’s with the second thread? The other one is still there lol.

Doesn’t seem less content than DF initially, and DF didn’t have delves. Maybe it’s somewhat less content, but for me, it has the most content I actually want to do. Idk about this 20th anniversary event though. I’ll get a taste of it, but don’t know if I’ll extend my sub just for that.

I think the idea of focusing on a mmo’s endgame may have been the wrong approach for game companies. It should be an achievement and all, but most stories and interesting stuff I’ve ever done through mmos throughout my life was during the progressing route. If I were to give an analogy, endgame feels more like a large wall you now have to climb. You can choose not to however, but that is where the content stops. In older mmos, and older WoW, you were in the trenches of leveling and progressing skills and your character. Because of this ecosystem, players were more focused on other parts of the game. It almost had a survival aspect to it with the thought that eventually you’ll reach the last level one day. Only the no-lifers were focused on getting to max level and then getting the best gear from the hardest monsters.

just curious, why do you need to make a new thread to “continue” a thread that’s still open and active?
