Basically an in-game reset button and I’d argue it’s a jab at the “retcon the last 2 xpacs” critiques
Would wager it’s cuz of WoD and that moment being a breaking point of at least two timelines
Aegis of Aggramar specifically, remember that that same vault that was part of the test to receive it also contained a fragment of a First Ones artifact
It already was part of timeline shenanigans during Cataclysm
This is just Golden having main character syndrome at best, at worst foreshadowing they will continue making the Twinkadin the Moral Center of the game as Golden implied during the Thrall Panel two years ago

I am worried she traded in her golden boy for her old bf Thrall and her self insert Aggra. That was the whole point of that panel, to remind us that she still lusts after Thrall, created her own self insert just to marry him ingame and takes jabs at anyone who ships Thrall with Jaina because she can’t take criticism, and hates being wrong.
I doubt it because that would require a) anybody remembering that short story exists and b) the quest writers reading feedback.
Golden isn’t on the quest team. Especially not for a random funny haha quest like this one.
