Subscribe for a couple of months, put in a couple hours for a couple of nights a week to prog the raid and risk stalling out before the end, or subscribe for one month at the end of the season, plug in a couple of bucks for a carry and purchase the best gear with a couple of wow tokens? Much better investment all around for close to the same price.

Those that don’t play it for item level play it for bragging rights or simple fun.
The first two typically go hand in hand because with progression bragging rights comes item level. The last one isn’t known for being a “It’s all because you suck” poster on the forums.
Jokes on you, I have simple fun playing the game and telling people on the forums they suck.
If you’re buying a carry, why buy gear as well? You don’t need it if you got the goals done. The gear will be easily replaced start of S3 anyway.
The increase in carries will come because you don’t actually need to pay for the drop that you want after 3 chips.
You target a single boss carry no loot and guarantee yourself the drop because you have the kill and the chips to purchase it.
