I get some things like raid resets need a gate(even though I would like to see it less then a week), and everyone knows that the only reason for time gating everything else is for the companies own selfishness in order to keep players in the game longer or keep them logging in just to increase their metrics. Personally I am tired of the time gating I would like to see its practice stop.
Clearly with this pre-patch even(which is horrid), time gating and the use of it by Blizzard is completely out of hand and out of touch with what the customer wants. I pay for the game and if I want to degen the hell out of it and grind a rep/crafting skill out in one sitting I should be able to. I shouldn’t have to wait a week to get those measly 12-14 profession points, it doesn’t feel good and takes the fun right out of the game. I have no idea how many things in this game that I wanted to do but I refuse to just because of the time gating. It is not an achievement and it needs to stop.
I don’t remember the last time they did even though the said that they would be starting to do so. I wonder if they thought this event would fall in that category.
no time gating = 23 hour a day try hards running out of content within a week.
This is a video game. Its not a replacement for a human life. a few hours a day is what its meant for.
Please dont make me defend blizzard again, lol.
I need to go take a shower with a steel wool pad now…
It’s a form of consistent character progression throughout an expansion instead of the so-called “gear treadmill” where all of your progress is meaningless and deleted after a couple of months.
Professions taking a time investment is good. I’d argue that leveling should be more of an investment too, but I know that’s an incredibly unpopular opinion.
World of Warcraft is full of excellent content, and most of it gets left behind after 1 season. It’s crazy.
Because you show up complaining about how the game is designed, and if Blizzard listens, then the whole game is adjusted to no longer reward the majority of players.
Look at Remix. That’s what (nearly) uncapped and unregulated player progression looks like on a small scale. Yeah, it’s fun as a limited time event to see how crazy folks can be. But it’s not a healthy future for the game.
