Time gating has got to stop. Basically killing this game

Every single expansion we Have the exact same issue. Time gated bull crap content that you can’t farm endlessly or repeatedly, making it impossible to get to the rewards. This expansion came with at least three sets of time gated crap that you have to do every single week. Time riffs, super bloom, waking dream. If you want all of these cosmetic rewards, you have to do it every single week. There is no possible way to continue farming them once you have done it once a week. For time rift, I did it every single hour on the hour but notice that no one else was really doing them, we were never hitting enough score to get to the boxes, so it was completely pointless… Completely lame and pathetic

Professions are also now time gated for the first time ever. You cannot simply go and level up your profession anymore, and get all the skill points. No. Not possible. Have to do it regularly over a very very long period of time and if you were late to the expansion, you get nothing

Also the same people complaining of time gating: “Ugh! There is nothing to do. I did everything in just a couple days and now I have nothing to do until the next patch/expansion. Thanks Blizz!”

Not at all. I just know people use those 2 arguments.

People complain of time gating because they cant do everything at once. And people complain if they dont time gate because then they do everything and have nothing to do. It’s a “lose lose” situation.

Some people like those games they can blow through in a couple hours, toss it aside and move on to something else. Others like the extended journey. /shrug

Players asked for professions to be meaningful again, and they are. Sort of similar to the SL legendary crafting requiring a bit of an investment rather than just 5-10k and a prof leveling kit.

In legion, there was time gating. But they introduced catch up mechanics. This seems perfectly fair. Without the catch up mechanics, the game is brutal, and simply unfair. If you start an expansion 75% of the way through, you now need to do 1-75%, and the remaining 25% at the same time. Otherwise, you’ll be behind next expansion. How is that fun?

Also, who cares about the people who binge stuff? Soneone playing 16 hours a day affects you how? Let them complain, add to ignore list. Barely anyone does this

OP. I get your plight.

…But, if I was a suit working for Activision or Microsoft, I’d look at this complaint and think to myself “Excellent. I’ve managed to keep this person playing for weeks instead of allowing them to neckbeard it for 1-2 days and cancel their sub. $$$$$$”

Yeah, like, last season I was 440-447 after doing tons of keys and now I get to max level, fly around a dreamsurge for 2 hours and can make ful 447 gear. Gear is a means to achieve goals in the current patch.

You could go into next expansion with full bis or greens and within a week the chars are equal again.

If leave late to work, do you get magically transported 75% closer to be where you would be if you left on time?

Catch ups are great, but this late in the game it doesnt matter. We’re a few months from the new thing anyway. Prepare for the next expansion.

Wrong. Every patch in DF theyve added catch up mechanics. It actually actively pushes you to skip the 1-75 and start at the 75
