Time for WoW 2

I’m going to make this a pretty short and to the point post.

I’ve played WoW since 2004, I quit retail after halfway through Legion, never to return.

I’m really enjoying SoD atm, I enjoyed WotLK Classic. I won’t be playing Cata Classic.

However, I cannot bring myself to go back to retail.

It’s too confusing, it’s not casual player friendly. It’s had WAY to many squishes. They needed to provide gear updates to out of date characters. I don’t even know what gear is good anymore, but didn’t care to look much past a 5 minute login.

Blizzard should keep the seasonal stuff going, I don’t know how popular Cata Classic will be, but it’s not that appetizing.

But, in terms of retail, they should scrap the old engine, and recreate something new from the ground up as a next-gen MMO.

Every new expansion for retail just becomes more and more confusing and honestly, stupid.

How about no!

So you haven’t played WoW since 2019, you should be saying the last time you played WoW was 2019

You don’t automatically get 3-4 years for just coming back in 2023-2024

I disagree.

I want the leveling experience to be better in WoW, I think level scaling on mobs was a convenient mistake. Yes I don’t outlevel zones anymore but there is no feeling of progression while leveling anymore either.

There also used to be difficulty modes while leveling because people could choose to kill green level mobs and level easily but slowly, or red level mobs for more speed and challenge. Now every mob is the same as me. Level diversity in zones was cool. Leveling up and gaining stats/talents continuously making your character better relative to any zone in the game was cool.

Blizzard took a big risk making WoW, but they seem very risk averse in making WoW 2. Maybe one day it will come.

Like I say in every one of these threads, what makes you believe you would like a WoW 2 made by the same people that made the retail you dislike now?

Honestly it’s the only way to get into a next gen graphics engine. But if I can’t keep my stuff then I’m not too sure about it.

You’ve returned. This is World of Warcraft, right here. Where do you think you are? Maybe we can get you some help.

Considering how Blizzard’s last two sequels have been received, I really do wonder where they’re coming from. Diablo IV is flawed and the less said about Overwatch 2, the better.

No I never returned, just log in once in a while to see how my Spectral Tiger is doing, shame I won’t use it anymore.

Can’t fault a person for loving their pets.

Now I need to go hug my dog.

They do though.

Each expansion is all but a new game. I’d rather not ever see a WoW 2 frankly–because that will mean that the game I’ve played for 20 years will go away. I’d rather not lose the history, the context, the friendships.

Man, I only remember the squish before BFA. Did they do another one? (not asserting they didn’t, just don’t remember).

I feel that every game I stop playing for a while… but I agree that retail has some problems, but it’s natural to feel confused

Skip WoW 2 and go straight to WoW 3. Then they’ll save all the expenses from WoW 2 and apply them to WoW 3 kind of making it more affordable and likely.

This is my take on WoW 2. I have zero interest in losing my toons, collections or assets. :see_no_evil::hear_no_evil::speak_no_evil:
