How much of my time will i need to sink in order to play TBC. Not so much of a hardcore player. i play a good 4-5 hours on most days.
Raids are shorter in general, assuming you’re not learning/wiping/progressing. 5-mans will take a bit longer on average compared to current, simply because Heroics aren’t super faceroll until you’re rocking raid gear. Daily quests are mostly quick unless you’re on a mega-server and have to deal with PvP all the time, but even then most of the dailies aren’t required for the main stuff.
There are a lot of more casual grinds you can do and Arena leveling doesn’t eat up loads of time and only requires a single partner if you do 2’s.
lol 4-5 hours is plenty I think… it might take you a bit longer to get attuned to raids… but considering no world buffs and consumables only being 1 flask or 1 battle and guardian elixir itll save you a lot of time. The more gear you get the easier it will get.
Raids are shorter as is the time to prep for them. You won’t need to go out and gather world buffs every time you set foot in it. You can stock up on some consumables but for the most part once your talents and gear are set, you’re good to go.
Also keep in mind that TBC introduces an actual summoning function to the Meeting Stones for all dungeons, which cuts down on travel time to them.
Overall, while this expansion isn’t exactly alt friendly, it doesn’t generally require nearly as much of your time in a single sitting as Vanilla does.
You could realistically gear out 9 characters by just running Heroics all day long.
Proportionately speaking, a decent player can level and gear 3 characters for Heroic dungeons and probably setup Heroic groups pretty easily. You could farm 10 Badges a day per character without really sweating. After 2 months, that’s 600 Badges per character.
And, you could probably increase that to 20-30 Badges on a select character instead.
So multiply this by half for baddies, and you’d still get pretty geared after about 4 months on 3 characters.
That’s not including Arena gear, which is just super easy to farm.
Heh, TBC heroics aren’t really that easy, but to run that much BC heroics you better have a good team that likes you.
gotta do your daily heroic and farm your spicy crowdads.
Ironforge braziers serve as cooking fire.
I remember heroic dungeons taking an hour at most even with “pre-raid gear”.
The longest part would be the attunements.
I mean there are the short ones like Heroic Ramparts, but Heroic Botanica and Underbog can take quite a bit of time if you run into any issues, simply due to the large amount of trash to clear.
UBRS and Scholo eat up a good deal of time now, but lack frustrating wipes Heroics will cause a lot of folks.
Are you asking how much time you need to raid and clear all tiers? or just play because there’s lots to do other than raiding, Arena is back world pvp is hot and professions will be another hot ticket.
I’m gonna go out on a limb and pigeon hole you as a raider, same as always there will be attunements
Lol, not much of a hardcore player… Plays 28-35 hours per week, lol.
Can you believe that someone who plays 4 hours a day is casual in 2020? No wonder people buy gold to keep up.
The funniest part of this bloated definition is that guilds these days call themselves “semi-casual” but require full buffs, consumes, and the ideal gear comp.
A big difference between scholo/strat and TBC dungeons, is that tbc dungeons are literally hallways, while the old dungeons were actual complexes.
I wonder how much covid has to do with this garbage. Once the vaccines roll out and life gets back to normal, I suspect a lot less players will have the spare time to play sweaty.
Depends on what you want to do. PvP and pve are on separate progression paths with minimum required overlap. TBC is more sandboxy than classic. Spend as little or as much time as you want.
You should be able to clear all the content on a single character while working on an alt and even getting alt raids for thigns like kara.
The Material cost is far less so so you should be albe to spend more time doing things like BGs or Heroics.
You’ll be fine. If anything TBC has fewer “mandatory” time sinks.
Its weird. Those are names I havent heard in a long long time and I barely even remember the dungeons… but I still just had an instant negative reaction to just seeing the names lol.
Underbog wasn’t bad. Botanica tho…
Yeah, I was going to say that. Underbog is a joke compared to Botanica.
