So i try to use the tiered medallions etting on pvp neck to add 3 sockets as i saw Swifty do it, I paid 14k for it and it only added 1 socket, so out of curiosity i try the Q2 one and guess what… 2 sockets, can someone explain this to me and is it possible for Blizzard to somehow restore the setting to me so i can atleast sell it for my money back or what?
The way I understand it is that each item is only ever capable of adding one socket; the quality just determines up to what socket count they are allowed. So 1-star can only add the first socket, 2-star can add up to the second, and 3-star can add up to the third. The ideal cost scenario then becomes buy one of each and use them in that order.
I haven’t yet encountered anyone who was able to get multiple sockets added by a single use of any quality of the item.
Thankyou for your response, I think i understand now, To add 3 you must use all seperate quality enchants, Deffo costly but I’m sure many others thought the same as me, learn something new everyday
This isn’t true. Something is bugged. Because I have a tier 5, max quality Elemental Lariat. Used a tier 3 setting and only got 1 socket. When I see others running around with 3 sockets on lower quality elemental lariats.
You misread what I wrote. The 3-star setting is the only way to add the third socket on the item, but this only happens if the first two sockets are already added. If they aren’t, it will add whatever socket is available.
To get 3 sockets, you can do the following:
- Item drops or is crafted with a socket. Otherwise, use any quality setting to add the first socket.
- Use a 2-star or 3-star quality setting to add the second socket.
- Use a 3-star quality setting to add the third socket.
The quality impacts up to what socket # it can add (first, second, or third), not the number of sockets added. All settings only add one socket.
