Seems they went with the same recipe as SL for tier set appearances which is an overall theme with variations.
Why Don’t they ever listen to feedback? So many people since the end of legion have been saying that the end of class themed tier sets was the worst thing.
Everyone juat seems to kind of blend in with these other wordly sets that blend in with each other.
This isn’t another “legion was the best expansion” threads but to me personally legion was the height of class thematic tier sets.
Ever since legion was over i just have not been impressed by hardly any mogs or appearances in BFA or SL.
I had really been hoping with this as a fun / exploration themed expansion that they would heavily focus on things like mogs being incredible.
I just have zero excitment to farm any mogs from SL when it becomes legacy content like legion and previous mogs.

I just glanced at wowhead and I have to agree. None of those sets are remotely appealing.

I feel like in terms of design, shaman and priest got the best looking tier sets. The others range from just okay to meh.

The sets are just virtually all the same color schemes and have very generic looks to them.
I had really hoped for more class thematic and colorful sets this expansion. Kinda glad i havent pre ordered yet.
They might be moving slowly in the direction of alt friendliness and stuff but this whole homogenized look of tier sets for what will be 3 expansions now to me is just so boring.
Remember when paladins were shining beacons of plate armor and warlocks looked super evil and bad af. And mages looked magely and rogues looked like sneaky dark assassins.
Now everyone just looks like a variation of a glowing quartz crystal in DF

Just because a lot of people say it doesn’t mean it’s necessarily correct. There are only so many different ways you can design a generic class set before you start retreading on previous designs or borrowing things from other classes.
I didn’t like any of the SL tier sets, and I absolutely hate all of this first batch of DF tier sets, but it’s at least a little more visually interesting than a “500th variation of generic paladin armor” set would have been.
Yeah, all the tier sets look like various Shaman sets due to the elemental theme. At least real class sets exist…

im still hoping they get better as the expac goes on but
But how could you not be wowed by generic glowing crystals jutting out from every surface of your body that are clearly recycled from cut shadowlands content?
It’s not only them being less class themed but also the generic color schemes they keep doing every season. All elite sets are the same colors, all normal raid sets are the same colors, etc.
Just makes everything look the same and bland.
Warrior one looks awesome. But I question how anyone can see through that helmet. It’s like solid rock lol.

Uhh… if many people say it, it does make it correct…to them. Thats like me telling you you’re wrong for making tacos for supper tonight. Its subjective to the people viewing it. Myself and many others included.
What classes had class-themed tier sets in Legion?
Few gems of sets though, Castle Nathria and Sanctum Plate looks great. BfA Warfront 1 Elite and Season 1 Elite Plate also were great.
But ya for the most part the suck. I’m just glad to have tier sets back however.
i cant count sanctum cause those were just reskins of the legendaries
They are leaning in far too hard on the theme of the dungeon and putting hints of class identity into the sets.
This is opposite of what they used to do. And the fact that they are all the same colors? What’s with that?
Now I have to give Blizz some credit on the new sets for the first DF raid.
Now every armor class can have a set that looks like crap and not just hunters.

Uhh like all?
Tomb of Sargeras
Paladins - golden purple radiant light type plate
Priests- golden version of absolution vestments
Demon hunters had a very DH looking set.
Warriors had very much warrior looking plate. Green set i think it was.
The arcsne tempest set for mages is literally one of the most mage looking sets ive ever seen.
Warlocks had some green purple set with a demon looking helm.
Shamans had some blue set with shoulders that had some sick lightning effects.
And so on…
If youre going to argue they weren’t tier sets by name you can go crawl into a corner. The net result is the same. Sick looking class themed sets whether they had tier bonuses or not.
I don’t care at the end of the day if they are tier in DF or not if they are class themed and great looking.

Tier sets look embarrassingly bad compared to the concept arts. It’s really unfortunate.
