I don’t think healers are asking for an across-the-board nerf for all roles. I think we got used to Torghast type solo queue content that had a different difficulty for healer specs, so it was all-inclusive no matter your role. I’m really not sure why they didn’t do that this time around since I was under the impression that delves were somewhat inspired by Torghast.
So yeah, maybe separate difficulties based on your role? That way your version of delves as a damage dealer remain unchanged, and those that like to level and play solely as a non damage spec are happy too. Win/win for everyone. And it’s not like it’s a new concept for World of Warcraft either.
Changing to DPS will not do much. You’ll still get one shot by a 6M damage explosion. I guess the point is more that this shouldn’t happen in casual content as low as level 5 out of 11.
Delves were made for people who found M+ too hard.
The Invasive Sporecap was more or less 1 shotting me with it’s Fungal Bloom spell, I couldn’t figure out a way to escape it. This was as a guardian druid, on lvl 5 Earthcrawl Caverns or whatever it’s called.
His life didn’t regenerate, so I ended up killing him after 2 deaths to it.
I’m one of the people who simply can’t develop this. I practice every day. If something falls on the ground I will stand in it. If it falls where I am not, I will run into it trying to run out of it.
I actually think this is a lot more common than good players think.
And it’s made worse because it often goes with a lack of reaction time. Trying to see things in the blur that is combat makes your reaction time abysmal.
Addons have compensated for EVERYTHING except situational awareness and reaction time. So if you were decent in, for example, WoTLK, but it was because you had practiced until you knew your rotation better than anyone, you are now worst, because anyone who doesn’t do that can just download a rotation helper.
It’s really terrible because you can’t learn reaction time and situational awareness the way you can learn your rotation, or mechanics.
That’s simply a situational awareness issue. That just takes time and practice.
No, it isn’t. The delves are way, way overturned. I should know, I just ran 4 of them for my gear.
You get 2 shot by everything in a delve now, even avoiding every mechanic. Sometimes you lose 50% of your hp out of nowhere just from some DoT you can’t get rid of.
Waxface as another example is hilariously stupid and busted when he cast Burn Away while it ticks 40% of your hp at a time and nothing you can do about it. My Zen Med didn’t even work against it as another cherry on top.
I have absolutely no idea how half the classes are going to do these with no heals and not a tank spec like I was. My Prot war is OP so he should be able to manage, but these delves are out of control.
Some healers don’t mind gimping ourselves if it means we can play the way we enjoy. And I’m not in this thread asking for broad nerfs for delves. I’ll adjust to the consequences of my personal choices with no problem and no whining. I’ve already completed tier 8 with one death my first try.
What I would hope for though is a healer difficulty just like there was in Torghast.
The OP made two complaints. One about not being healer-friendly and their resistance to going DPS, and the other about the 1-shot mechanics.
I don’t personally see why 1-shot mechanics that are avoidable are a problem, unless there are accessibility issues (like if Blizzard needs to add more settings for those who are color-blind, etc), but my comments are responding to the first complaint about the healer vs DPS stuff.
