Just played a game in Cata Eye of the Storm where we got to 1600. The score was 1600 to 1573. The game did not end immediately, however. It lasted for another 5-10 seconds, in which time the other team capped the flag and got to 1600. The game ended and it called it a tie game.
Seriously, fix your game Blizzard.
