Tidy up WoW a little

There is so many old currencies in WoW from past expansions. Why not replace all those old useless currencies with Trader Tender? It would add replay value to WoW.

I feel like at the end of each expansion, all of the currency should be converted to Time Tokens. One large pool of time tokens. Then when you go back and farm old content, you get the tokens instead of the currency, and the vendors now accept the tokens instead of the currency. I would drastically reduce the size of the currency window, and open up the entire game to farming.

Ugh, god, I agree so hard with this. Every time I hit… is it SHIFT+C? …on my retail Mage, I go, “AAAAAA”, because there’s stuff I haven’t touched on there since, like, 2007.

The issue is the old currencies have very different exchange rates.

I’m literally drowning in Apexis crystals and Garrison resources. If those all converted to tokens I would never need to participate in older content again. I could just buy everything I’d ever want with those two.

They could do the same conversion they did with Justice points:

1000 Apexis crystals = 1 time token
1 iron chef token = 1 time token
2500 soul ash = 1 time token

and so on. Then they nerf the old content rep, items, and recipes to only need 10-100 Time Tokens. Similar to the Anniversary event with Time Warped Badges.

And how do we get the vendor items for those currencies?

The idea is that those vendors would now sell their wares for Time Tokens as well.

What are Time Tokens?

Because everyone would have too much tenders which is what I think you were going for.

A hypothetical currency to replace legacy currencies.

None of this is real. This is an idea someone has.

I actually like the time token idea better. TBH. They can add cool new player housing items to a vendor using time tokens.

I get that. But it’s also an extremely unrealistic idea, as different currencies work differently and come from different types of content.

Precisely this. We would absorb the TW Vendor option. Mounts that used to drop are now sold for TW badges. So instead of buying or drafting old stuff using the old currency, we could use Time Tokens at the reduced rate and still have access to antiquated systems without cluttering currency. Some would remain untouched like Honor or DMF Tokens of course.

They could add player housing items to the vendor too. I love your idea for time tokens way better then Trader Tender.

I mean, don’t get me wrong, I wish the TP was unlocked all month long, and the more you did the more you earned and could buy. But “Time Token” just seemed to make more sense since it is all in the past. There are several currencies that would have to remain untouched, but I could easily think of about 40 or so that could convert right now.

What about all the junk that gets added in every expansion? The bag space is very limited. We should be at 70 slot bags right now. They just keep making reagents that take up space.

I think old legacy reagents should stack to 100,000 to save space in the reagent bank and guild bank.

There should also be a questing bag slot for quest items to go into instead of clogging up valuable bag space.

Or at least let us trade old currencies for gold

Ooh, that’s real sensible! I like that.

This would make a lot of sense, and actually put some more motivation to do old content as well.

We should be able to convert past currencies, maybe you need 100 mor seafaerer’s Dubloons but have like a metric ton of some other BFA currency? trade it in at a 1:1 ratio for another expansion currency and come the end of the expansion convert all available currencies on a 1:3 ratio to the new expansion currency. Or better yet, just convert it all to gold.

Also this, bonus points if we can just straight up buy the furniture and decor with the native expansion currencies. I’m not even out of the expansion and radiant remnants are already useless.
