Tides of Vengeance (A) - Likely a very basic question

I can’t figure out how to start the Tides of Vengeance questline/achievement and a lot of comments I’ve read from previous questions like this aren’t helpful largely because the responses that seem helpful to others might as well be in ancient greek for me.

I saw one response recently that said “Isn’t that in your war log? Just check your log.”

  1. WTF is a war log? How do I find mine?
  2. Do I need to turn war mode on to complete this (I’d prefer not to)
  3. I can’t seem to find a tracker that shows where you are on the journey a la the Nation United achievement, does such a thing exist?
  4. Is this questline gated? Or can I grind through it if, for example, I call out sick to work tomorrow?

  1. When you open your map/quest log, it is at the top above the list of quests. If you get stuck it is always a good place to check out to see what your war leader wants you to do.

  2. No war mode necessary.

  3. I’m not sure what you mean by a tracker, but the comments on the wowhead page for this achievement step by step you through it and maybe that will help:

  1. All war campaign questlines are gated by reputation. You need solid 7th Legion rep to complete this one - 14k/21k after hitting Revered. You can get some of the way in with less 7th Legion rep.

But if you already have the rep, I believe this can be done in one day. No 24 hour follower missions, for example.
