Ticki's 9.0 priest guide

Hi,
I’m Ticki. I updated my bfa guide and made it to a 9.0 guide. Like before, this guide is aimed towards both new and experienced players. Let me know if you have any questions, corrections, or want new sections.

Hey, I actually made a post recently regarding disc priests. I’m having trouble learning how the general rotation and healing works.

Someone cited your guide which I used as a starting point, but maybe you can read some of my confusions on the post and let me know what you think.

I’ll poke around the forums and look for your post to respond.
EDIT: One of the best ways to improve is to watch streams to learn, I’d watch disc priest streams to see what they are doing as well.

ty for this leveling my priest soon

I read the whole thing thanks

This guide was great! I’d share it on the priest forum too, I’m sure they would find it useful!

Just got the PW:S reflect legendary memory and I’m really tempted to craft it.

Legendary update. Will check back after I give up on Shadow and want to heal.

Great guide ticki, you’re an excellent discipline priest and I appreciate playing world of warcraft with you. Keep up the good work

Not a bad idea, I’d do it, esp if you’re not going to raid

@Tickix, I dont know how to test how much of shadow mend’s healing clawback occurs so, with the shield reflect legendary, is shield cast now priority over shadow mend if no weakened soul, in mana efficiency terms? Or even with legendary try to shield only to apply atonement outside of rapture?

Thanks for posting! QQ On the advanced section…

Stop pressing Power Word: Shield every time weakened soul fades on your main target! If you need single target healing, then you should always cast Shadow Mend over Power Word: Shield, assuming you do not need the atonement from Power Word: Shield.

Does this apply with using Crystalline Reflection? I’ve been running with this legendary and have been trying to justify considering PW:S is significantly lower absorb then it used to back back when I played in WOTLK.

For example, if my shield absorbs 2.5k, then 20% of that is 500 damage. Since most shields barely last a second it seems like with that legendary you’d want it up as much as possible.

Alternatively, Rapture makes a lot more sense to spam with this legendary since the absorb is so much higher.

I crafted the penance legendary so I swapped out my mind games conduit for the radiance one. Since we only have 1 available right now, which is the most important of the 2?

I am mildly regretting not making the reflective shield leggo. I wish I could have tried both on beta to see what I like without wasting soulass

Thank you for this! I’ve absolutely loved disc since I picked it up and while I will be raiding and doing keys plan on putting in a lot of arenas in shadowlands. Looks like I really need to find rogues mages and warriors though lol strapped on partners recently.

I believe yes. the leggo doesn’t jusutify spamming shields over shadowmend. Shadowmend is still significantly more healing.

I like the mindgames conduit more i think. the debuff duration just feels nice. don’t worry about making the wrong leggo, as long as you keep doing torghast, eventually we’ll have them all.

shadowmend drawback is pretty negligible in most cases. it’s 5% of the healing done every second until the debuff is gone (from damage or healing). don’t change how you play because of the legendary.

Very nice guide. Waiting for Holy Priest to be on par with other healers in 3s. Thought SL was going to be it not so sure after trying skirmishes.

I don’t play priest but man your insane for taking so much time on doing this guide for people. Grateful!! Thanks!

Don’t play priest at all but this is an amazing guide. Liking and bumping for visibility for the priest players <3
