If our guild got a thunderfury for a mage, anyone know if that would be a first?
(if you’re wondering, no the mage we’re giving it to is not me)

Maybe, but why waste a perfectly good Thunderfury? lol Give it to a rogue or a warr if the tank already has one.
Edit:
The person below me has the more correct reason not to give it to a mage.
Classes: Paladin, Warrior, Hunter, Rogue
You can’t loot it to a mage.

Well the main tank already has one, the particular mage we want to give it to wants it for RP reasons…and everyone seems to think it’s possible
Yea the other reply in this thread actually has a better reason why a mage can’t have it.
ouch, dream dashed…if a hunter can get it why not a mage…that sucks!
Roll a hunter.
But I think the proc works for a hunter, and it has stats. Still it’s tanks > rogue/warrior > hunter/non-prot paly And tanks mostly because that’s the person that has been coming every single raid and will still keep coming even after getting Thunderfury.
Why?
Only ppl should be getting a TF
Warrior tank/fury
Paladin tank
Rogue
Ppl that shouldn’t get a TF
Mage/hunter / ret Paladin (should be HoR)
Then again I see warriors using HoR when you have multiple better weapons as ash/R14/BRE
Ret BiS = Corrupted Ash-bringer then HoR
Meh.
I don’t agree with giving a hunter a Thunderfury. But they can equip it and at some level having a legendary is having a legendary. People just want it.
From the Forums Not a Bug Post
Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker can be completed and equipped by any class that can equip swords.
yeah that’s what my friends who concocted this scheme are insistent upon…it’s just weird that the bindings have requirements that the quest/item don’t…
From what i recall reading (dont remember were) they added the class restrictions back in vanilla before any one knew what this was for so that raid groups had some idea of who to loot it to…
The class restrictions on the bindings were removed in retail way later on. You cannot do the quest on a mage in classic.
save your good boy points for atiesh
Hey let me know when the mage can’t equip it and if your guild breaks up when all the warriors and rogues leave.
Taking a dump in your wizard hat and then wearing might be a first too. That doesn’t mean it should be done.
You can equip Thunderfury on any class that can equip a one handed sword. The bindings have class restrictions but you don’t actually equip them so that’s irrelevant. The sword itself has no class restrictions and can be equipped by any class that can equip a one handed sword as previously stated. Yes, a mage can have thunderfury.
