can other classes than hunter/paladin/warrior/rogue complete this quest, been trying to get the second part bindings of the windseeker on 4 characters for 6 months but it wont drop i have a Demon Hunter a Death Knight and a Druid than can run the whole thing and the druid found a part. is it still stuck to the first 4 classes unlocking thunderfury? or can any class complete this and unlock thunderfury?
Any class can finish the quest and create the sword.
Only classes that wield swords can unlock the achievement or the transmog, because you have to equip it to do either of those. So donât bother running on alts that canât equip a one-handed sword. Odds are good thatâs the toon that will get the drop and then youâll have a useless Thunderfury.
thank you for telling me it wouldnt unlock with characters that cant use it. i have been running it with my druid for a while now, if it had gotten the second half first i would have done the whole thing with her. THANK YOU SO MUCH!
H2h. I had a similar situation with the Warglaives of Azzinoth. During Cataclysm, I was farming Illidan on this hunter character looking to add the Black Bow of the Betrayer to my collection. I had both glaives drop (one of them twice) before the bow. But a hunter canât unlock the achievement, so they sit in my bank collecting dust.
i had no idea you needed to use them, i have been running all the raids from BC to Legion on my Hunter and i thought that they would be added even if i couldnât use them. will have to run each raid many times a week
I ran into the exact situation Sniperorc describes. Got two useless glaive drops before the bow drop. Still have them in void storage in case hunters can equip glaives some day.
TBH, being denied the legenday unlock on my main rankles me (and probably other hunters), because darn it, every weapon is a hunter weapon.
almost everything that drops for me is for warriors/paladins/rogues. when i ran Lich King and Illidans raids i unlocked maby 4 items per raid for my hunter everything else was for another class
For triviaâs sake this wasnât always the case. The bindings originally had class restrictions, but they were removed either late BC or with the release of WotLK.
⌠Still waiting for Valâanyr to receive the same treatment, by the way.
what are some other legendary weapons that need quests like this?
Do you mean legendaries with questlines to obtain?
Dragonwrath, fangs of the father, thunderfury, sulfuras, Valâanyr, shadowmourneâŚ
may be forgetting some been out of the game a while.
Sulfuras - No questline, just get the drop and combine it with the (expensive) hammer
Thunderfury - Questline
Atiesh - Questline (though I think it was just one quest)
Warglaives - No questline
Thoriâdal - No questline
Valâanyr - Questline (only a bit longer than Atiesh though)
Shadowmourne - Questline
Dragonwrath - One hell of a questline
Fangs of the Father - Another hell of a questline
MoP cloak - Questline that spanned the entire expansion
WoD ring - Ditto
Legion - Legendaries took on a new definition and became super-rare drops with limitations on how many could be equipped at once
BFA - Legendary cloak, added quite late; arguably the Heart of Azeroth is a closer analogue to the âexpansion-wide legendaryâ we saw in MoP and WoD
