Thunderfury Combinations

Hello Classic friends!
Just got my thunderfury on my fury prot Human warrior yesterday and since I still don’t have Maladath, I would like to ask those who got more experience to help me settle the offhand weapon!
My options are, Death Sting (number 1 option for me) or Hakkar’s OH.
I know Death Sting is a wonderfull weapon, but the 305 sword skill with Hakkar’s OH can beat the 303 dagger skill?
Is there another option I should aim for?
Any help would be appreciated!
Cheers

For a human warrior, maladath is going to be your best option 99% of the time. It also means not stealing death sting’s from someone will MH it. If you really want a faster dagger OH, a pugio is your best stat stick and less greedy than grabbing death’s sting. Pugio is probably the easiest weapon to snag out of AQ by the odds.

Maybe Sand Polished Hammer off Ossirian in AQ20?

Keep in mind I’m trying to think of relatively easier things to get. For difficult acquisitions it would be a rank 14 weapon, or Maladath.

I already have Death Sting on my bag. The only one dagger rogue already got it.

Then use that. It’s an insane dagger. Maybe swap to ACL too and forget about maladath. You might even consider using it MH with tfury OH in some cases.

Do you actually have a Death’s Sting, or are you suggesting taking one?

Otherwise, I’d recommend the following if Maladath isn’t dropping:
Anubisath Warhammer
Blessed Qiraji Warhammer
Warblade of the Hakkari (OH)

You can use slower weapons, too, but it should be avoided. You can equip something like Edgemaster’s or Ancient Core Hound Gloves to open up your optimal weapon options a bit more.

Daggers:
Death’s Sting is BiS, but should go to a dagger rogue or Fury warrior.
Pugio
Dragonfang Blade
Core Hound Tooth
Perdition Blade
Fang of the Faceless
Alcor’s Sunrazor

Axes:
Crul’shorukh
Doom’s Edge

Have no fear, though, for our guild has only a single TF and Maladath. lmao

Yes sir, already got Death Sting on my bag, gonna aim for gloves then.
Should I forget about Maladath for sure ?? I know Death Sting has a higher dmg then TF, so maybe use it on main hand it’s not going to be a bad idea too, I guess.

Your threat might be higher with TF in the MH since its proc will go off more than it would in the OH, which might offset the higher base dps of the dagger. I could be wrong, I’m on mobile so I can’t sim it. That’s just my gut reaction.
It will probably be close either way tho tbh.

Once I had my TF I used Assassination Blade in my offhand until Maladath finally dropped, nothing crazy but hey it worked.

Any ferals in your grp would want to kill you if blessed qiraji warhammer went to a fury prot over a druid

I would use Death’s Sting in your off hand with Ancient Core Hound Gloves. Whether you take Maladath when it drops is up to your and your guild. It’s kinda greedy, but it’s BiS until The Hungering Cold.

I took our first one as the OT due to our guild getting almost no weapons, ever. Even caster weapons are stupidly scarce. Our only feral druid has DFT, so he isn’t going to complain about something that has a high drop rate, anyway.

I dunno. I think the power gain a druid gets from that weapon when compared to a fury prot makes it clear druid prio. Even cats want it to use when not using pummeler.

But I suppose if you guys have a weapon drought it might be different.

I should also mention we have 4 ferals not just the one to placate with this wep

We’ve only got one feral, and he got DFT in the last BWL, plus threat in AQ was rough on account of me not being as geared as the MT, not having Thunderfury, and our DPS just becoming more geared over time.

Regalia is infinitely more common than a lot of other upgrades for him. Iirc, we already got one for him, but I wasn’t paying attention.

Why should a guild give you an exceedingly rare weapon that you arn’t even sure you should use?

DS is suppose to go to a tank without thunder-fury, extremely greedy for you to have takenit over other tanks better to have gone to a rogue.

I would recommend using Aged Core-leather Gloves with Deathsting in the MH.

It is still a little off and I don’t expect it to perform as high as TF MH and Maladath OH - as tank having 309 weapon skill is a nice perk and a definite threat-increase.

So yeah, ideally you’d get Maladath and a second dagger, use TF/Maladath for tanking and double dagger for DPS when you’re OT.

We give Deathsting/Pugio to off-race fury wars. I don’t think this item should go to tanks with a TF since it will only have situational application. But I am sure you can make it work.

Our guild has not seen one single regalia drop in all of our AQ40 lockouts.

If you honestly took it over a druid then you must lack the common sense to understand just how much of an upgrade it is for him compared to you, which is to say, it’s so incredibly massive that giving it to anyone else first could be considered an act of ignorance. It’s several times the benefit of any beneficiary class getting a DFT even.

I mean, your guild is ungodly unlucky on the Regalia drops is all. We went the entirety of the last phase and then into phase 5 without a DFT, and then 2 more weeks after without one. The druid will survive.

I’m sure you’d have survived if he got it first, too. It’s besides the point. If smart loot distribution is the goal, you did it wrong.

There’s always an explanation… They gave it to me because I didn’t have thunderfury on that point, it dropped they day after. If you still don’t get it, Death Sting dropped on raiding day 01, on raiding day 02 my last TF binding dropped. I’m using it on OH, I will get Maladath when it drops next and plann to use aged core leather gloves + another dagger with DS to DPS when not main tanking.

I mean. Unless your guild is pushing some crazy numbers, you could use a shield in your offhand. Salv on alliance side makes it completely possible to develop plenty of threat to keep ahead of probably 90% of dps in the game without duelwielding when using thunderfury.

But that is up to you, and how your guild runs are.
