Now that classic is around the corner and we know that it will exist forever, is there any hopes that Blizz will fix the issue with the Thunderfury scaling being broken on Gnomes? The entire sword being clipped beneath the floor…
Hoping they’d fix something like this.
Or for those insane gnome purist that want the clipping, they can put in a “shrink-o-matic” chat option for a NPC in gnome area of Ironforge that allows you to shrink the blade.

It is hard to take your post seriously when you start it with sarcasm.

@Bricklethumb
I’m prepared for it, but this isn’t a change of anything other than scaling a weapon down. For being the most prolific weapon that is BiS for the whole game. Figured we may be able to get a cosmetic fix for one of the races.
@Somalion
You get the point. It will exist until the world of Warcraft service will shut down. The point is that once obtained the weapon will not be replaced for the entire duration of the games life.

I mean does a guild that is willing to give thunderfury to a gnome really deserve thunderfury?

You don’t know cute until you’ve seen a gnome main tank onyxia.
They’ve had clipping issues in the game since go. They still do. I wouldn’t expect a fix here.

This is a real question, not me being snarky. Are there any of those gigantic swords from back then that don’t clip for gnomes?

Is anyone actually going to give Thunderfury to a Gnome? Absurd.

It shouldn’t be an issue because any decent MT will play Human. You should not be MT if you aren’t min maxing.

Glad we have a lot of guild that do not share that sentiment =)
I could state that if you feel you have to min/max in order to beat those raid bosses, your already bad at your class
It has already been proven and every raid boss beaten long long ago without optimal min/max builds.
Easy fix: don’t give it to a gnome.

The MT role is different as threat generation and mitigation play a huge role in how well the raid does. The MT being a non-optimal class is just as bad as a dps not bringing any enchants or consumables.
Yeah, basically, and seriously. If you’re gonna “fix” clipping then may as well just use all of BfA’s graphics, or play BfA.

I agree, the MT role is important, but does it have to be some min/max meta? Nope! As I said, it’s already been proven many many years ago, even a decent warrior tank that doesn’t have that BIS gear in every slot, or may not have that extra 2% defense, etc, it makes zero difference when the raid listens, is paying attention (situational awareness kills raids 9/10 times), and follows direction for the most part.
There is wiggle room for a few mistakes in any raid encounter, it’s what made the victory that much more thrilling and rewarding.
Raid groups were doing just fine well before all this meta BIS requirements starting cropping up by the hard core mindsets believing it shouldn’t be done any other way and then spending their time and energy trying to force this down the communities throats.
Oh, and as to the actual topic the OP listed, clipping was always an issue, but not game breaking, so I wouldnt count on them doing anything about it.

You are placing far too much importance on +5 weapon skill. It helps, but its not even a 2% overall increase to hit and it doesn’t effect all of a mobs defensives. You could also place emphasis on 10% armor increase from Dwarves. This is forced thinking thats essentially parroting. The defense cap and +5 weapon skill concept has been proven to not be nearly as big as people in Vanilla made it out to be in 2004. It makes so little difference in fact that it wouldn’t be a factor 99.9% of the time, but yeah, if you want to min max, you can push for that 00.1% and think you are making a MAJOR HUGE difference and NOTHING else would be viable, but man, thats silly.

I like how everyone assumes they are all going to get legendaries like they did in Legion, that’s cute.
