So, I have been farming Bindings for thunderfury pretty consistently since the end of 8.2. I had one binding drop about two weeks into the farming process and have yet to see the first one. I have talked to a bunch of friends that have been farming it for years and have yet to recieve that second binding. I see a common thing where they have 1 binding but cannot seem to gather the other.
Usually I would be like, whatever, it’s a low drop chance, but I see a large portion of the actual classic player base having thunderfury. There has been like a total of 100 resets? (I didn’t math it out) Did something get changed from classic or what?
if memory recalls any raid that is current will have a better chance to drop items
i took me almost a year from when i come back to wow to get both bindings
Yeah, I have been farming for the better part of a year and a half. I know people who are like 5+ years. They are on and off farmers but still.
A lot of people have thunderfury because they’ve been able to farm it effectively since like, MoP or maybe even Cata.
I got lucky with mine though, got the first binding after 10 or so runs, and then the second not two weeks later.
Its rng
Rng is rng
But i will say that my TF dk who got her first binding in cata and didn’t see her second binding until bfa… didn’t actually get the drop. The right binding dropped for my friend who was running the raid with me for his T1 and he traded it to me

I got both Bindings in 2-3 weeks on an alt in the past ~month.
Meanwhile, I’ve been farming Warden’s emissaries for the stupid toy since it came out.

Just got my second binding this week. Took about 7 or 8 months.

That’s is the RNG fir you trust me they drop I have then
It must be the drop rate was decreased though. RNG for sure, but the amount of rogues and warriors with it from classic is insane. Not seeing 1 binding for 7-8 months does not translate to the amount of people who have it in classic.
The drop rate hasn’t changed. You’re looking at very skewed comparisons.
It only looks inflated on Classic because it comes from current content in that version (so lots of runs per server, per week), and it’s a BiS slot for multiple specs.
On retail you’re largely only going to see it if someone has chosen to mog it.

“Skewed” It is quite a common complaint that people havent seen a binding in literal months. 25 people sharing 1 lockout see it more often than multiple people with multiple lockouts
Until you put up some verifiable numbers, calling it a “common complaint” means nothing. That’s already a selection bias because you’re looking for others in the same boat. It’s just RNG, dude.

Took me 800 kills across my characters to get flametalon but 1 kill for midnight’s reins
A lot of people have thunderfury on retail. I have it but its not mogged right now so you wouldn’t know
Edit: in cata i got both warglaives in 6 kills, and later got them again on my 70 paladin who still has them in her bank. Just rng things
that paladin also has thoridal

my man, look at the people in this thread alone. I’m not going to go make a poll and be like, “Let’s get some data!” Even people here are like, it took me 8 months. Most of the people I know still farm it and it has been years. I understand it is RNG. What I am saying is, people have been doing the raid longer for tmog and haven’t seen one. Multiple people within the same guild in classic have one. It just must be it was a higher drop chance in classic.
My raid group was in the place for nearly 2 years and never seen a single binding.
I have both on my Shaman and even have the quest “complete” but can’t turn it in. Yet, still have yet to see one on my Warrior after I lost count of how many runs. It’s pretty sad really.
Its hard to say for sure because even over in Classic some guilds complained about their luck and getting bindings at all. Some guilds farmed all of MC and didn’t see a single one till BWL or longer. Meanwhike other guilds were working on their second.
Some guilds had 2 or 3 (or more) by end of Naxx. Those guilds probably recruited people with TF rather than farmed every one themselves though.
Loot seed has constantly been a theory to RNG chances like this though. I have one binding on like 3 characters right now, but I only have ever tried for the 2nd on my warrior (and I don’t do it very regularly).
Took me from I think Wrath till 2020 (I didn’t play legion though so factor that in) to get the second one. Good luck.
It’s not bugged. I farmed the bindings and warglaives for years. I got the first binding and my first warglaive pretty quickly but never saw the other pieces drop for literally years so I took a break.
Decided like 2 months to start farming them again and got both the other binding and my other warglaive back to back on the same day. It’s just RNG man
