Thunder clap fury warrior

i faintly remember submitting feedback way back that they should replace whirlwind with thunder clap on fury warrior due to how boring whirlwind is and it got nothing but pushback from the community. and now it looks like the thunder clap theme is coming to with the new hero talents. i just hope it DOES replace whirlwind like i suggested… because if it doesn’t furys rotation will just feel bloated.

instead of 2 shieldslam/bloodthirst charges youd get 1 or 2 empowered shieldslam/rampage which have a % chance to lightning strike.
shield slam: 100%
rampage: % chance or primary target only.
the percentages and charges depend on blizzards scaling of lightning strike.

I agree 100%

Same.

Edit: Sorry, don’t agree. Read it wrong. I think thunder clap is cooler. They should have thunder clap replace whirlwind when you take it.

Allow thunderclap to apply the aoe buff instead of whirlwind.

And then add actual lightning to the animation. (More than the tiny static shocks from the glyph. More like the old glyph animation that had pillars of lightning from the sky.)

Imo, ww or thunder clap is fine for fury. And I think thunder clap replacing ww for mountain thane makes sense.

But, imo, remove ww and thunderclap for arms and make cleave baseline. A master of arms wouldn’t be spinning or stomping. A attack that cleaves through their enemies though. Hell yeah.

I don’t hate Whirlwind, especially in its more classic Storm of Swords state…

  • or, ideally, more powerful but increasing in cost after use, declining back to Rage-efficiency over a Haste-scaled 12-20 seconds or so, as to give us a way to deal with excess Rage…

…and I would like Thunderclap to remain in some situational / utility-esque form.

But, I could go for a baseline Cleave, sure.

For sure. We need to be able to use rage and arms doesn’t need whirlwind sweeping strikes, thunder clap, bladestorm, and cleave for aoe. Remove some and buff what remains.

Unless “some” means like… 1 of those things, I’d have to disagree. I like my CD-juggling on Arms.

I don’t want Arms to be anything like Fury’s one-stop-shop of rotational AoE.

Its going to add the cleave component that whirlwind gives, as well as trigger the mountain thane lightning strikes while whirlwind does not. I assume that it will simply replace whirlwind in the rotation, or at least I hope it does for the sake of reducing bloat.

It will generate less rage in aoe, but the rage generated by the lightning procs will hopefully make up for that.
