I’m playing Fury in keys right now and I can blue parse on logs pretty regularly. But when I do log comparisons against people who purple parse in keys that take the same amount of time as mine, I am doing a lot less damage from Thunder Blast than anyone else.
One log comparison showed I pressed Thunder Blast 60 more times than the other warrior, but he still did 200m more total damage with his overall. Does anyone have any idea why my Thunder Blast is doing such little damage?
May be a silly question, but do you have your 4-set?
You’re probably missing your s3 4p bonus…
4pc or you have less gear.
This week i had 2 options on my vault. A champion track tier gloves that would complete my 4s. Or an heroic track bis ring. I was going to go for the bis ring because of the track but I decided to go and sim the gloves first to see how much i would get by completing the set.
I was expecting something no higher than 5%. Not a wooping flat out 18% increase in favor of the set
Yes I have 4 set on my warrior. He’s decently geared at this point with BIS trinkets, weapons, fully enchanted, gemmed, etc. I use the same popular builds from Murlok and so forth.
The only thing I could think of otherwise is CD management/spell priority.
Thunder blast should be your #1 button press any time it’s up, even over rampage (unless your enrage has fallen off). Don’t be afraid to send Ravager/Reck (ideally macro’d together) virtually on CD, as we generate so much rage in Thane you’ll have it reset by the end of most pulls. The higher uptime you’ll have on Reck will obviously add some juice to those TB’s as well.
With the way most tanks are pulling dungeons currently, you can basically get away with free-wheeling Avatar on CD as well until you get up to the last trash pack before a boss. Even then, if it’s a big group, send it and go ham.

Thanks for your input. I do actually macro Ravager/Reck together which is nice and use it pretty much on CD like you said.
I think your point about priority is something I need to fix. I believe I was always pressing Rampage when available even when still enraged so I don’t overcap on rage. And then Thunder Blast was treated as my second priority as a result. I’ll fix my rotation priority and see if that helps my damage overall. Luckily I just got my BIS myth track weapon from vault too so I have a 723 and 720 weapon equipped which should help me hit a bit harder than I was previously.

The 4-set proc is completely nutty, so with each TB use your total potential damage is higher than the total dam a single Rampage use would be. The only exception is sub 35% on single target you’ll want to prio Bloodthirst for that juiced execute damage. But as a whole, thane is this curious spec that doesn’t mind being rage capped.
