I wish they had brought back thrown weapons back with the additiona of the Amani trolls. Being able to have ax throwing for them or spear throwing for the Darkspear would be amazing thematically

Thrown weapons are mainly to pull ranged mobs, at least thats what i did, all classes already have ranged abilities

Throwing weapon for a ranged class, letting survival, rogue and warrior replace their weapon throw type skill with a transmoged ranged weapon, or just bringing the ranged/relic slot back as pure transmog would be neat.

They never left.
Only the actual items were removed because everyone hated those. We still have abilities like Heroic Throw and rogues have an entire archetype called Outlaw where you have access to pistols and blunderbusses.

Survival hunter can throw an axe. You have basically no reason to ever use it though since it does pitiful damage and they have other options for when out of range.

I am pretty sure they just baked it into skills now. You can get a glyph for Warriors that makes your thrown weapon match your main-hand weapon I think. A Troll rogue having “fan of axes” instead of “fan of knives” would be silly though.
As neat as it would be, we don’t need a fourth weapon type used only by hunters, and we don’t have another class that uses ranged weapons.
Thrown weapon hunters for Troll/Dwarf/Night Elf Hunters would be awesome.
Because replacing a Gun/Bow/Crossbow item in a loot table would cause some kind of imbalance?
What? Of course we do. 2 specs is far too limited for a weapon type. It’s like if warrior was the only melee DPS.
Basically.
Wrath for rogues forced their use to cast fan of knived. so you had 2 choices. run the thrown weapon for FOK. Or….take the stat stick that was that nice bow/rifle/crossbow. ammo optional. my tbc rogue has a nice stat stick ranged weapon. No ammo lol.
Since the stats on the thrown weapon if they had it could be trash.
If….you even got it. Only 1 boss in wrath orgination dropped thrown. and that 1 boss for many crews was a skipper. get what you need to “complete” and done. So that made level 80 gear up “fun”. PVP sourced one that I recall. If one hated pvp and the spam to get it…well sucks to be them.

I wish they’d add them in as alternatives to a bow, crossbow, or gun. Then at least Hunters could use them and those Amani trolls could throw axes instead of shooting bows, which looks out of place.
I mean, they could have made them throw weapons anyhow, but if they fleshed out throwing weapons as a weapon type, they might have better graphics.
Can we address needing twice as much currency for 1 handed weapons esp. since nilhammer is about to drop?
P.S. thrown weapons seem cool

I’m all for more specs that use ranged weapons, but the fact is at the moment we don’t have them.
I’ve been a big fan of others who also hated outlaw redo from combat who said this could be a ranged dps spec for rogue. Since you know…its halfway there with casts use a pistol. A pistol we have no idea where the hell it comes from. Prison pocket, maybe? lol.
Lets just put some real guns on outlaw, call it a day.
Hell it can even keep RTB. We can call it weapons misfire from bad powder load on the ammo or something.
That would have better basis than a now 20+ year master of bladed weapons (or 1h maces) hitting like crap on every random cd reset for reasons.

Like that. Been around since Warcaft 2. But they did wet noodle dps in WoW. In RTS version they tore you apart. Blizz isnt about to put a lore accurate axe throwing troll into the game to where it can just sit there and white damage you to death with auto ranged attacks.
Back in the day several classes could use a pistol as the third option (kinda like casters would have a wand in the third slot).
