I was trying to report this issue to Blizzard but their site pushed me to the forums. I was watching YouTube when an ad came up before my video that was promoting a site named -removed name- (the name with .com for url. I won’t type it fully to promote them) that you can pay to power level your character to level 60. Looks like they offer other loot services and things as well.
I believe this is a threat to the integrity of the game that we waited for so long for. Blizzard should at least be aware.

This is nothing new but good looking out, homey.

I hope Blizzard legal team gets on this as it, if anything, is a threat to the Brand

I’d edit out the name of the site, as it could be seen as stealth advertising.
You can send an email to blizzard with details to Hacks@Blizzard.com.

Will do. I debated even saying it, but I didn’t know any other way to direct Blizzard to the organization. I will shoot this to the email you provided. Thanks
It’s kind of the wow underbelly if you will, but as said before me, power leveling, gold farming/selling and account sales are all things that have existed (and flourished) since this game comes out.
Kind of an unfortunate nature of the beast. I wouldn’t lose sleep over it
Nah, but those are typically illicit by nature relying on in-game advertising by the chat. This was pretty blatant by what appears to be an organization capitalizing on the work of another organization. Just seemed different enough that Blizzard Legal would for sure be interested
I’m not sure what Blizzard can do about someone else advertising on Youtube. If they catch it happening through their normal methods, I’m sure they’ll ban accounts, but knowing the website of a gold farmer probably is not actionable.
Blizzard claims they’re much better at detecting these things. My bet is on them. If people use these services, they will be banned.
Unfortunately a lot of these services are based in countries with no copyright/content laws of any sort and legal systems that don’t really recognize or care about in-game terms of service. Blizzard’s legal team most likely can’t touch them
Part of the real vanilla experience tbh
I dont understand this at all. That completely defeats the purpose of wow classic?
“hey come play wow again like its the first time. Explore all the content and relive the excitement… J/k pay as a few $$ to do what you originally paid to do so we can have that experience while you miss out on classic by playing classic”.
This just seemed a bit more backed by a true organization, which means it is a very real and substantial target for Blizzard Legal to address.
I have no doubt that the guys at Blizzard had considered this returning long before they even started working on Classic for real.
But, just like when the game originally launched, it is tough to combat.
Report them as you see them in game and move on… but don’t expect them to go away.
unfortunately, as long as there is demand, there will be people to supply it.
Yeah i remember this from way back. They would offer power leveling with options to level prof for you too, at additional costs. The service is nothing new and Bliz really cant stop them except to offer an alternative, (which we dont want). Silly people that do this will usually get hacked later on or just have their account outright stolen.
