Short of having a shaman in group or tank, or sanc buff, lock threat is ridiculous
They put back in the Fankriss trinket. Now it drops from Thadd and gives you 70% thread reduction for 20 secs, 2 min CD, as well as 3% crit.
It’s your one and only option as Affli, and Affli is all we can play with T3. Because Blizzard forgot to add any Felguard mechanics to it.
Like having 2P also increase FG damage, having the 4 piece also get triggered by his Cleave or something.

Y’know it would be real nice if we could have a little thing called soulshatter.
Given WCL results I would venture to guess they are going to reduce Warlock threat generation by 10%-15% or so fairly soon. Might not be the way you want it though.
I’m willing to bet not. Don’t forget this is still “classic” and I’m sure they want to retain at least some kind of threat management. Even though for a lot of other casters it’ll never be an issue.
The only threat reduction warlock even has is in the demo tree and it’s deep in there.
What if they made a Sigil recipe for Enchanters to make…
Sigil of the Innocuous
- Immediately reduces threat by 15%
- Reduces threat generation by 30% for 10 seconds
- 2 min CD; shares CD with Potions (ie Health/Mana pots)
- Requires 5 Illusion Dust, 1 Astral Essence
- 1 Charge, Stacks in lots of 200
I also wouldn’t mind seeing a Sigil of Provocation, which does the opposite; increasing threat. It’s getting harder and harder to tank with all these Raid-geared players.
I would rather have soulshatter or a 10%-15% threat nerf.

Soulshatter is also a 2min CD. But I don’t think you need a 90% reduction in threat to everything in the area; 90% is way too much for a Classic-isque take on the game.

Threat is a non issue in sod even without alpha or sanc. Ur tank is just bad or running the wrong setup if doing big pulls with multiple mobs
