Probably the biggest, “Bruh,” moment I’ve ever seen in an alternate path.

Yes, I’ve seen numerous Youtubers say how it’s so much longer and what-not. Here’s what they don’t tell you.
-
World Quests and Bonus Objectives:
Your kills are only worth 1-2% for 17k EXP at level 55. So, for 50 enemies, you get the exp of: A single quest (getting around 15k per quest). For both of these. 25% more in Warmode. :^)
-
When you complete an aid mission, you get Renown. This is okay and nice. Correction: Would be. Each bonus objective is 9% / 100%. Each quest - 2%. It is faster to do side quests than these bonus objectives. Reminder - some quests are just: Collect 8 objects. :^)
-
If you’ve intended these for alts, like, at all, you’ve failed. Failed so spectacularly that if someone’s making a healer or doesn’t know what Threads of Fate are, you’ve, essentially, locked them into a fresh new hell of having to kill HUNDREDS of monsters for 1/20th of a level.
-
Doing random dungeons provides the exp of THREE World Quests. One normal dungeon, btw.
-
Throw hot porridge on the guy who put these percentages.

I have to admit I thought this is what they implemented to have alts level faster so that it doesn’t have to feel so tedious after leveling 10 of them by omg… seriously the bonus objectives takes FOREVER and only two of the aiding quests give renown. After two of them there’s really no point in doing the other two besides experiences.
I did not realize this was just going to be an alternative to not do the storyline. My bad I guess. It takes even longer than doing the storyline. Might as well do the storyline til you get to 59 and then do threads of fate so you don’t have to complete the entire story.

You would think this. However, it gets funnier. I finished one area, right?
I am now Renown 3. From completing just Maldraxxus. :^)
At level 54 on that alt.
You guys are crazy. It was super quick for me and you get renown and anima while doing it.

Threads of fate has been fine for me. Not to mention the little head start I get on anima and what not.
If you don’t like it fine, but its a fantastic option for people who don’t want to watch the same story scenes over and over and over and over again.

The exp needs buffing badly.

Increasing the xp from world quests and bonus objectives(while making them less tedious to do) would go a long way. Filling a bar for 2% per mob is just beyond silly. I personally wouldn’t pick threads to level a character. I did it once and never again(until they fix it).

I tried threads, and it was painful. Took forever to move through the various objectives. Next alt will not go through that again. Nice in theory, but implementation was bad from the get go.

I -bothered- to try it to give an in-depth analysis.
Instead, we get comments from absolute geniuses from classes that are, effectively, broken and three-shotting people that it’s not so bad.

Im gonna try Threads of Fate at level 59, worst case scenario I gotta run like three dungeons to cap at 60.
I wonder why would dev’s waste RESOURCES on a system that’s obviously worse and obsolete for the majority without serious buffs to it.
They could have done better by just having a “I already seen this…” once you reach 60 normally on all your alts.
Literally bastion is lvl 54-55 (51 from the maw scenario) then probably you would cap before you finish ardenweald.

My friends have figured out doing the “campaign” quests/zone quests whatever you want to call them until 58-59ish~ is actually FAR quicker and easier… and then swapping into Threads to finish it off, by finishing it off I mean by herbing or doing bgs.
I haven’t personally tested this yet but I plan to on my next character.
P.S Please fix Threads of Fate - it feels horrible… like really bad.

This is my first ToF character. It is ungodly slow by comparison, especially if you are going straight into it on a freshly leveled character. If you don’t buy greens from the AH, you can’t even get into dungeons because of ilvl.
ToF is a nice concept, but it needs tweaks to be worthwhile. If it is intended to be the alt path that catches you up quickly, it has failed.
-
XP gains need a serious buff in order to be a reasonable choice for leveling. 1% gain per kill makes bonus objectives a joke. If it is the intended alt path, it needs to actually compete for leveling speed.
-
If XP isn’t buffed, then the rewards (anima gain/renown/etc) need to be a better incentive than they are. If the argument is that you start your covenant early with ToF, then make it actually feel like it is worthwhile to get the jump start.
-
If neither of those options are what is intended, then I think a simple green set with the minimum ilvl for dungeon queue would be appropriate. Something in a similar vein to what you get when you boost. Perhaps a simple quest chain right at the start where you earn each piece. Otherwise, you end up like this paladin with a ~58 ilvl getting thrown into hell and being pummeled by random blistering ghoul #242.
There is a lot of potential here with this system, but it needs to be a reasonable and worthwhile choice.

Undoubtedly there’s a problem involving ToF tuning specifically when discussing bonus objectives and WQ’s. The fastest way to go through ToF is to do side quests (which are marked on the map for you), and dungeons, along with the dungeon quest. Abandoning the idea of doing bonus objectives will make ToF much more standable and worth it. I’ve gone through ToF on two alts now who are 60 and 150 / 160 item level each now upon being capped, and both of them are Renown 6 without a problem.
The Renown alone will likely continue to increase in how it’s rewarded throughout the weeks, and make ToF even more worth it. Yes, bonus objectives and WQ’s should be more lucrative. Absolutely. While it’s not, simply avoid them.

I’m glad I’ve been doing the replay story.
My guildie was telling me that ToF was a better option… But I fail to see it.
Honestly , I find the story mode super fast.
Some rp here and there but it’s nothing too bad.
Plus u get some great gear along the way.

They’re basic quests and there’s enough side quests and World Quests that if you don’t want to do the bonus objectives then don’t do it. Sorry you suck at killing things? Threads of Fate is awesome and starting 60 with renown 3 and a ton of anima is huge.

how have i failed leveling two alts in 3 days from 50 to 60 using threads of fate ? and when I say three days I mean 3 IRL days as in I still went to work, slept, socialized & worked out.
I use tank classes so I first pick up all 4 normal dungeon quests which give lots fo xp, do random queue for bonus xp, once all 4 are done, no more dungeons. Meanwhile the big aid quests keep getting more % (dungeon bosses and quests give % boost)
I do side quest chains which are very very fast and give lots of xp, not to mention I did this on alliance and so WM on, only got ganked three times so I think the 25% bonus xp was worth it.
As I dinged 57 I turned in dungeon quests, dinged 58 and had all aid quests completed so I turned them all in, got my renown and had a quest or two left to do to hit 60.
So again, how did I fail?
Edit: here is a trick, dont do WQ and bonus obj. side quests are much faster. I only did bonus obj if I was doing other quests that shared the area.
