Why would you ever consider this a good idea to take this away? If I have alts that I want to run through there w/ others for xmog gear or anything, I am now being force to rerun the ENTIRE damn thing! WHY! It was earned already! Why take away something that was earned!
I think I recall there being technical issues from keeping Shadowlands Threads of Fate and Dragonflight’s Adventure Mode in same client
I do hope they find a way to bring Threads back though, it’s such a nice system for leveling alts if you’ve already completed the campaign on one character
Kind of leans into the idea that more things should be account bound
Wait. You’re telling me that if you choose to level an alt through SL you have to do it the traditional linear campaign way?
I’ve not stepped foot into SL since DF launched and wont for a while, but good lord. What a terrible decision.
Threads of Fate was what made SL bearable for altaholics. Such a shame it’s gone.
I’m lucky enough to have all my alts beyond needing it but… dayum! At least have an option to choose a zone.
It’s there no other way to get to level 60?
Iirc, Chromie Time was changed to allow this but I have not tried it so can’t confirm.
Are you sure this is the case, and not just getting to level 60?
Still annoying, but it might be some silver lining. I don’t recall having to pick up a quest to enable a dungeon/raid.
I was given the option on my druid a couple weeks ago though
I have done Shadowlands dungeons on a number of low level alts with Chromie’s help, without ever setting foot in Shadowlands during this expansion.
Just get that alt to 60, and you can do threads of fate then. Threads is only for characters lvl 60+ now.
Get your alt to 60. When I did it a few weeks ago, I made it through Bastion and like three quests into Maldraxxus before I dinged. Took maybe a few hours, and I wasn’t even trying to rush it. I even took extra time because I was using my rogue who was still wearing crappy BFA gear, meaning I was getting folded like fresh laundry and taking forever to complete quests. I made it to about 53-54 before I remembered I had heirlooms. Anyway, once I got to 60 I was able to go back to Oribos and switch to ToF.
My issue is I was doing it to have extra characters for more attempts at the random log rewards in Korthia, but as it turns out you need to progress through the campaigns anyway if you want the appropriate NPCs and quests to be available.
if your gonna hate something so much fully commit, hate all the mogs and mounts too.
The mounts were okay, but those mogs, hardly any of them looked right for a druid.
But make sure to do it before 70! I did a lot of testing for another thread last week and seems once you hit 70 can no longer go back and choose Threads.
That’s not true, I JUST did threads on my fresh 70 lock on Monday just fine. I only did it since I want the cloth mog and Blizz won’t let us just buy it with gold.
This has been told multiple times but people just choose to complain, like blizz has said nothing and are destroying their gameplay. It’s like they completely ignored how all of us played our level 60 evokers for 2 weeks before df launch.
Good to know! From the other thread someone reported that was not the case.
From my testing I had to be level 60+ for Threads to be available.
nope, you have to redo the entire thing. I had max level alts, i was trying to run thru there for a few things for xmogs etc, and it was making me redo it all. I put in a ticket, and they said they took out threads of fate and has to be redone on all champs
wrong, i have taken many new alts through it testing it, you simply cant. dont spread false info.
It was supposed to be removed around 11/15/22. The Blizz support article that’s still available says:
The Threads of Fate Campaign skip in Shadowlands is no longer available for leveling or max-level characters.
Any characters who have already chosen Threads of Fate prior to Dragonflight will be able to finish it. However, characters who never initiated Threads of Fate will be restricted only to the zone-by-zone Covenant campaign for Shadowlands.
If you already chose Threads of Fate, do not choose Chromie Time’s Shadowlands - Realms of Death. If you do switch to Realms of Death while Threads of Fate is active, you will retain most of the features of Threads of Fate, but you will lose access to World Quests until level 60.
I am not though? I did it on my lvl 70 lock on Monday since I want the unity mog, so I got in the stitchcraft stuff before reset.
And I just did it on a lvl 60 alt.
Nice, I thought that’s how it worked, I haven’t tried it myself as my alts are already passed 60.
So Chromie can enable these even before level 50?
Any of the raids should be available too once we’re 60, though a small raid will still be needed at this point to complete it even at 70… as a guess.
I think only the covenant mogs needed some sort of campaign completion… For each one too…
Stoopid ripcord…
