Threads of fate

Threads of Fate is being removed in Dragonflight. Thoughts?

With the extension of Chromie Time to level 60, I don’t care if they remove Threads of Fate. I doubt very many people will be interested in leveling in SLs when they have other options.

I never liked it. Everyone acted like it was super fast leveling, but I never found it to particularly fast. Also filling the bar felt like it took an ice age and I just didn’t care for what I did given what I had to do to level. It was still Shadowlands, and Shadowlands was crap.

It just means that 2% chance that I would ever level another character in Shadowlands has gone down to 0% chance. Doesn’t upset me in the slightest, I’m just glad that they solidified my chances of ever levelling in that dumpster fire of an expansion again to nil.

The issue with removing Threads of Fate is we’ll no longer be able to skip the SL main story campaign if we want to do any of the level 60 SL content.

That one’s simple just don’t do it. Even if it’s the fastest option.

I love how many of you hate linear questline and I am glad that dragonflight is following the trend of linear questlines or should I say storyline.

God I can’t wait to never touch that hot garbage of an expansion ever again. It’s gonna be my favorite aspect of Wow moving forward.

I’d argue they’re desperately and miserably failing to emulate FFXIV.

I don’t care about FF14 and also FF14 won’t even beat World of Warcraft. Live in your little denialism bubble. Also, dragonflight will beat FF14 and that’s a promise.

This game is turning to trash. You think DF is the grand savior of this game, you’re quite mistaken. Now they are have turned to copying a whole flying thing from GW2. Get real. WoW is living by a thread.

It already has. But you’d have to be blind not to notice Wow didn’t emulate linear narratives until Squareenix had success with it when they relaunched FFXIV. Shadowlands was there first truely narrative focused expansion and a good chunk of the playerbase can’t wait for it to be gone and forgotten. Maybe Dragonflight will be better, but there was a reason why people will abandon Shadowlands.

And yet somehow it was made better. And Dragonflight will beat all of the modern mmo and that’s a guarantee.

BFA was the first iteration since it was the first expansion to introduce the campaign system through the war campaign.

Shadowlands made you complete it’s narrative to progress zone to zone. BFA you could skip around from the beginning. Shadowlands was Wows first attempt to emulate what FFXIV has perfected.

It will be on chromie time for new(ish) players… Players who leveled alts through SL will probably do other expansions… I just want 50-60 to get onto chromie time so I can finish Invisabull.

Unfortunately when we went into Shadowlands (perhaps it was when they released Chromie Time), BfA became locked into a set order of zones.

It’s a really horrible design. Let players choose whether they want to do story quests or not. Don’t force them into it.

Skip around that was the zone quest but I was talking about the war campaigns exclusively. (During BFA during the zone questline yes you can skip but after BFA it locks you into zone orders fyi like 123)

Good, locking in first, second, and third zone in order is good and also I am glad they are realizing narrative matters more.
