Threads of Fate is DISABLED as of Nov 15th

Someone that wants to level from 50-60 as fast as possible

1h 30min in Cata and silver pines forest.

I’ll have to try that once the serves come back up

At least MrGM said so

Take that with a grain of salt

Not a big announcement. It’s a necessary stake in the ground to prevent use of Threads of Fate in the future, they have to build themselves a transition effort to do it. Seems like a reasonable time to me - although having 50% bonus WITH of threads of fate was borderline abusive levelling IMO. Just too fast.

This is just the closure notification, so it has my approval. Which is not very important.

Blizzard should do a compromise here.
If this is an alt, select SL Chromie time then pick your covenant and level 50-60 doing the covenant campaign instead of the intro campaign for each covenant.

well for a while at least I ran the complete story i think two times maybe three. It will be a while before i return.

Honestly this is such a non-issue
 level 50 - 60 elsewhere for 2 weeks
everyone will be doing Elemental Storms anyway. What character is anyone dying to level with ToF to have at 60 for DF launch that isn’t there already?

I would rather see Blizzard go the other way here. I would rather see Blizzard adopt the Main Story Quest leveling system from FFXIV. Have players play through each campaign start to finish and unlock things/features along the way relative to that expansion. You can do away with levels altogether and have your progression tied to your MSQ progress. It would give temporary life back to their abandoned systems and give players that sendoff when it gets turned off.

This also would solve the complaints that the story doesn’t make sense or at least remove the excuse that it doesn’t.

when did shadowlands become the fastest 50-60?

It will when the lvl 50 to 60 bracket gets hit with a BIG nerf to exp required during today’s implementation of Phase 2 of the prepatch.

I wouldn’t be okay with that.

I played FFXIV all the way through from the start of ARR to the half-way point of Endwalker before my WoW cravings made me jump ship. (Nothing against FFXIV. The combat just wasn’t good enough for me to not just want to play WoW.)

That system works for FFXIV because that’s the focus. FFXIV’s story is the center point of the game and every other system shows that.

WoW has more of a focus on gameplay and open world content. FFXIV doesn’t have anything like World Quests, Mythic +, or World PvP.
WoW locking away content behind completing story would be a disservice to the game.

They must really want to bury shadowlands, make it as hard as possible to level there in hopes new players won’t come in and see how they crapped their pants over the last 2 years.

In all fairness, WoW doesn’t have World PvP either, unless you count random max level characters attacking people 20 levels lower and then running away if a fair fight approaches. :stuck_out_tongue:

It has it sometimes.

There are still small group VS small group happenings every now and then in War Mode. Particularly upon the launch of a new map.

Maybe I just miss it. shrug

Last time I saw World PvP in this game was prior to BFA launching.

RIP. :frowning: Was a great way to level. I took every single alt 50-60 via ToF. I loved having 70 Renown by the time I hit 60.

Absolutely no thank you. I despise this in FFXIV for alts. Not really a huge fan of the single leveling path kick Blizz has been on the past few expansions anyway - one of the reasons I adored the addition of Threads of Fate.

Did some kind of fight go on down here last night? lol.

I see an entire section of the discussion is missing.

I actually think it is fair.

There are other zones to level in, I mean why do SL again with a new character if your main and alts already are in covenants, it is just more hassle when the ToF is unavailable.

I don’t care for caster classes, but when I was on the Beta, I did kind of like the new Evoker, so may make one just for fun. If and when I do, I will probably be leveling them in BfA zones most likely, that was a fun xpans for me.

I have 16 level 60’s (7 are Hunters, yes, I am crazy) that I took through SL, and I don’t see a need to have any more go through that and more covenant stuff. I only did the 4 different covenants on 4 toons leveled them up once each, no reason to go through that with my other 12 toons. They are just in a covenant because they had to be.

I think it was pretty dumb of Blizzard to do this. But anyway I ended up turning on TOF on all my 50 alts last night in case I ever want to farm tmogs or mounts or pets on them in SL. I won’t touch the SL storyline again, yuck.
