Threads of Fate is DISABLED as of Nov 15th

From wowhead:

The Threads of Fate option for leveling in Shadowlands will no longer be available as an option for characters who wish to level in Shadowlands 50-60 with the release of Phase 2 on November 15, 2022.

Any characters who have already chosen Threads of Fate prior to November 15th’s prepatch release will be able to finish in Threads of Fate. However, characters who did not choose this option prior to Phase 2 will not have the option to select it. They will be restricted only to the zone-by-zone Covenant campaign for Shadowlands.

Be aware that if you have already chosen Threads of Fate, do not choose Chromie Time’s Shadowlands - Realms of Death. Stay in the present timeline. If you do switch to Realms of Death while Threads of Fate is active, you will retain most of the features of Threads of Fate, but you will lose access to World Quests until Level 60!

This also means that all new Evokers who wish to open Covenants during Pre-Patch will need to complete the Covenant campaign storyline, rather than being able to shortcut through Threads of Fate.

I am completely fine with this. OF the 3 alts I leveled with Threads of Fate, I found myself disliking it. The only reason I used Threads of Fate to level is because it was technically faster than the linear path.

Could you explain a little bit about why you feel that way? It seems like this just lets you level 50-60 in any expansion rather than locking you into Shadowlands. Doesn’t this mean that the Shadowlands campaign will be auto-skipped for you once you hit 60? Why would you not want that?

does it mean that? i genuinely do not know. i know the fastest way to get renown is threads of fate and buying the item off the broker next to oribos flight master that gives you renown level 60 then doing threads world quests dungeons etcetera gives you more renown.

i have nothing against chromie time to 60 in other expansions, i just want threads of fate as an option.

So… you don’t know what this change means but you’re saying it’s a bad move?

I’ll do all the bonus objectives in the 4 zones, switch on Chromie Time and level the rest in Legion or BFA invasions/assaults. It’s all good. I got around 30 characters locked into Threads of Fate, I’ll go through them whenever.

Perfectly fine with this.

Ran 20 too many though there for Stay Classy this last year and a half.

I mean…

“does it mean that? i genuinely do not know.”

So you dont

In other words if you want Zereth Mortis, Korthia and Maw Riding unlocked, gotta do the story.

This is what’s actually happening:

Beginning with phase 2 of the Dragonflight pre-patch, Timewalking Campaigns will scale to level 60. The Shadowlands campaign will be available as a new option for veteran players once Dragonflight launches.

So why delete ToF before SL is even in CT?

It’s from a Blue Post.

QUESTS

  • Removed the ability for players who have not started Threads of Fate to access the system.
    • Developers’ notes: The goal with Threads of Fate was to help alleviate the linear path of Shadowlands for alts as it was the only way for players to level from 50 to 60. Now that Shadowlands has been moved into Chromie time and Chromie Time’s level cap has been increased to 60, players have a multitude of methods to reach level 60. Players currently in Threads of fate can continue through it, but the option will not be available for any new characters.
    • We do not have plans to do similar removals with Dragonflight’s Adventure Mode in future expansions. Threads of Fate is a choice to use in Shadowlands and irreversibly changes a player’s character once it is chosen. It previously created two different experiences of Shadowlands, which would double to four with both of the level up and Threads of Fate being accessible within Chromie time. Adventure Mode in Dragonflight is an overlay to the level up experience and is always on once it is earned regardless of decisions the player makes.

It’s not misinformation.
