Hi,
I left the game a while ago leaving a couple of level 60s who were only just into the campaign story (at about renown 8 or so).
Ive come back to play, but decided on a different class and faction, so I leveled via Threads of Fate (now renown 23ish) to 60, but im worried I wont get the flying quest lines or chance because they are locked behind the campaign on my other characters and faction. Where I dont really feel like doing stuff.
Am I going to be able to unlock flying on the Threads of Fate path on this newly levelled alt?
Anyone got any REAL experience with this? Id prefer NOT re-level a character/class again …
Help would be welcome.
Cheers
As flying is locked behind renown level 44, it doesn’t matter which way you choose to level the character. The path to flying is as follows, and once unlocked on one character, is account wide.
- Complete chapter 2 of your covenant campaign.
- Complete chapter 4 of the Chains of Domination campaign. (renown 44 is required for this step.)
Upon completion of the second step, you will receive Memories of the Sunless Skies. Use the item, and you will be able to fly.
NOTE: This will not unlock flying in the Maw, Korthia, or Zerith Mortis.
Zerith Mortis flying has it’s own achievement to be able to fly (Unlocking the Secrets), and flying is just not allowed in the other 2 zones.

Thanks for the reply.
Because it IS locked behind the campaign, you must be able to get the chains story line. Using threads of fate you cant do that.
So I have answered my own question. No you cant do it via threads of fate unless one of your characters has completed the necessary campaign steps.
So Ive gone back to one of those characters and am nearly through the prereqs.
Thanks for your response.

I’m glad you’re almost finished, but I do want to clarify if anyone in the future sees this thread since there seems to be a bit of confusion here. Unless I’m just not fully understanding the original question.
Choosing to play through the shadowlands zone storyline or choosing Threads of Fate is just the method you are choosing to reach lvl 60. Once you’re level 60, you begin end game progression the same way. Both methods will give access to the covenant campaign, which will unlock the chains of domination campaign after chapter 2.
