And the first thing she is says is that you are wearing Doomhammer’s armor ?
I mean … what .
And the first thing she is says is that you are wearing Doomhammer’s armor ?

She’s probably seen Doomhammer few hours before she died.
You don’t think they spoke a word on their way to the quest point where you meet up with them?
She knew all along who he was. She doesn’t have any bedside manner and seems like she don’t really know what to say
Did they … why don’t they show it to us ?
These are the type of things which irritate me about WoW … I don’t want to read a book to get the back story . Put it in the game I am subbing too
She is wondering why Thrall’s transmog is so bad.
Plot twist,
Doomhammer is thrall’s dad. Draka cheated on durotan and that’s why she was talking about the armor.
She wanted to get a measure of who he was before having the mother/son reunion conversation. There’s also the matter of getting ready to assault an evil fortress.
Thought this was pretty self-explanatory…
Not really … if I was meeting my son who I last saw when he was an infant , I would have other things to talk about than his outfit .
What about giving a hug ?
Putting aside how orgrim was a personal friend of both Draka and Durotan, theres also the fact that he was both a formidable warrior and general (one of the most disapointing parts of WoD was how he got jobbed out to blackhand who’'s most noteworthy traits were a combination of his laziness and how easily manipulated by the shadow council he was).
Heck, Orgrim was the canonical player character in WC:O&H.
Thus Thrall wearing the guy’s armor suggests that he either killed Doomhammer or was a close ally to him.
And you realize people do different things than what you would do… right? Or is every fictional character supposed to do the actions that you would do in that situation?
She’s already lived another life in Maldraxxus since she last saw her son. A life of deception, guile and constant survival/fighting. She sees her adult son in Doomhammer’s legendary armor right before assaulting a big creepy fortress. She decides it’s not the time to have a conversation with him because they both need to focus on the matter at hand. That’s what she chose to do and the quests laid that out pretty clearly.
Are you related to the writer that you are defending such terrible writing in the game??
And I am pretty sure they had a big reunion which happened before the quests and will be in a book . Which is wrong . Things should be in the game .
And you think your version where Draka and Thrall have a big ol’ hug in Korthia and get all giddy right before assaulting a major Maw fortress is good writing?
Ok buddy. Got some mommy issues you want to talk about?
Doomhammer met with her and Durotan shortly before they were killed by the Shadow Council. He promised to address their concerns of corruption within the Horde, but he didn’t know Gul’dan had already sent assassins. They were killed while they were returning to the rest of their clan. Ironically, the Council assassins thought than an Orcish baby abandoned alone so deep in Human lands would quickly die, so they didn’t bother killing Go’el and they left him there in the woods. I mean it’s old lore at this point, I’m sure that’s why they never bothered rendering it in game.
Wanna bet that this version will be what is released in a book as the backstory ???
How much you want to bet? Because the dialogue was very clear that Korthia was the very first time they met when Draka explicitly says “I’ve heard much about you” to Thrall. So you can mail whatever gold you want to bet straight to me.
To expand a bit upon your point, she clearly wants to hear his life story, as she explains after. But she also says in that same scene that who he was, isn’t as important as who he’s becoming. For she too thought that death was the end of her story, when it was only just the beginning.
I sort of expected her to break a rib and tell him he’s a disappointment, what with being an Orc warrior and Baron from Maldraxxus and all…
Orc life <> human life. She would no doubt disown her son or even kill him herself if he turned out to be a non honorable orc. That is their culture. It also doesn’t make any tactical sense to have an intense emotional conversation on the literal cusp of assaulting the enemies stronghold…
Plus they have their touching bonding conversation at the end.
Orgrim was her husbands best friend. They knew each other well. So seeing her son in this armor she recognised was obviously significant as it suggests that Orgrim lived some good amount of time and had a significant hand in Thrall’s upbringing.
