In the campaign quest A Moment’s Respite when Jaina is telling the “Champion-Maw Walker-Kingslayer-Etc” about the Jailor and the Maw, she says, “…I fear it will not end well for any of us…”
I think this is all the proof we need and a subtle bit of foreshadowing for the end of this expack. All the past faction leaders that we have known for so long are going to all die. And when this expansion is over, everything we’ve ever known about WOW will have been turned upside down.

You save Baine first in the campaign and take him back to orbitos…the rest follow afterwards in the future. You also save Darius Molgraine too and his father.
Sylvanas died at the hands of Godfrey in Silverpine Forest many years ago.
We wouldn’t be that lucky for all of them to die.
I was wondering if anyone else had picked up on that. I think players think this expansion will end like all the rest, and I think we have had so many “same oles” in WOW the devs are really out to shock us, like millennial edge-lords on steroids
The most banal ending would be for Sylvanas to sacrifice herself somehow and save Tyrande and everyone, so that’s what I’m expecting.
God I’d love this, but I don’t see it happening. An expansion to just push the reset button on the game.
If anything we return (canonically) to Azeroth post Shadowlands and the leaders who stayed behind may not be around anymore. etc
The ones who came with us for the most part, are the “important” ones. 
Personally as long as Tyrande dies, I’m good.

No we don’t need another episode of Obito vs Kakashi. I prefer Tyrande alive than a bittersweet ending.
I would be amused if Tyrande somehow found herself indebted to Sylvanas. That would almost be as good as if Tyrande was somehow manipulated into saving Sylvanas.
I expect something much less interesting will happen.

It’s the writers fault 
. Tyrande and Malfurion yelling at each other was cringe so I can empathize with that.
Ion already said that his wording was taken out of context. We will not be seeiing anything different in Azeroth when we return. Time will not be advanced a ton that well known characters are dead.
Somebody has not gotten to Torghast yet.
