Thrall’s armor

Was staring at the loading screen and noticed Thrall’s armor is blue. Why? Seems weird.

Not sure why it took so long to register.

He’s slowly joining the alliance.

Does the Alliance own the color blue?

He has been dropping hints for awhile now U.U

The bits of armor he wore under his coat in WoD had a blueish tint to it too.

They do, believe it is in their charter.

Maybe he’s wearing it to assert dominance. I think I saw him T-posing in the load screen while Anduin and Alleria are fighting

Canonically, it’s supposed to be black and gold.

Blizzard artists are slowly retconning it into a bluish hue.

Same thing with “Silvermoon City” canonically being silver and blue, then slowly getting retconned into the red and gold we see today.

Well that’s not a retcon, they just re-decorated the entire city when Kael’thas unilaterally decreed that their entire race was a different name now.

If you haven’t picked up on it, elves are dramatic.

Was about to say that. Renaming yourselves Blood Elves and wearing red it seemed like the next step would be to have your city eventually match.

I just recall some comments from the narrative team that were inconsistent about the colors Silvermoon used to have (some claiming that it’s always been red and gold, which doesn’t make sense for a city named “Silver” and “Moon”).

I would say that Silvermoon was founded by High Elves who lived in the night, Elune was a big thing. But also they had the Sunwell so there was also that.

Elves are weird

You know, I want to give the benefit of the doubt and say “Oh, it’s because the Frostwolf clan color is blue”, but you’re probably right.

I miss when the Horde had positive character development.

Jaina gave it to him, it’s made in Kul Tiras, she spared no expense.

They literally show it being blue before the war in Alleria’s memories in the pre-TWW animation:

“Change over time caused by geopolitical events” is not the same thing as a “retcon.”

He’s recolored the black parts over time to represent the Frostwolf Clan. His clan. Instead of Doomhammer’s Blackrock Clan for which the armor had originally been made.

Thrall’s parents are from the Frostwolf clan and he is/was a part of this clan too. Thrall’s mentor, Drek’Thar, is from the Frostwolf clan too.

Thrall is taking up painting? =D? That’s good of him to have a hobby but I feel it also paints over the history of the person he is paying respects to.

I’ve grown fond of it recently as Thrall always leaned closer to Frostwolf including the Doomhammer having a Frostwolf icon. :robot::rightwards_hand: :coin: :coin:
