When using thoughtsteal as a disc priest on another disc priest, it removes Penance from me the entire game. It removes it from my spellbook and replaces it with a thoughtsteal avatar.
I Essentially will not be able to use penance the entirety of the game. its been like this for a year, why has it not been fixed???
For example I used Thoghtsteal on another Disc Priest in SS round 1, and couldn’t use it for all of the other rounds as well. FIX IT
As a mage who has suffered under the tyranny of thoughtsteal I take nothing but delight hearing this cursed spell being used against you and breaking you for the whole game.

Mages are the only time I even use it. Love watching RM teams scratch their heads trying to figure out what to do. Lol
I am having this same issue on shadow priest with Vampiric Touch. I can confirm that it just removes the spell after the 20 seconds end. I checked my spellbook and its gone. This kind of makes sense because the logic in the code is probably:
Add enemy spell (in this case VT) and remove Thoughtsteal
After 20 seconds, remove enemy spell (in this case VT, and you don’t get it duplicate so it removes your baseline spell) and add Thoughtsteal back
This is supported by the fact that my Vampiric Touch keybind was replaced with Thoughtsteal as well instead of it just being a question mark
