Thoughts: posting story updates

Afternoon, Wyrmrest!

My officers and I are in the midsts of preparations for our next story arc, and I had a thought, which turned into a question.

Where do we stand on a guild/group/community posting story updates on their current storyline, for any who might want to opt-in or just use the info to help propel their own RP?

Specifically, I had thought of a post, here on the forums, which I could update once a week, as updates and developments to the story were made.

There would be no expectation of anyone outside our guild participating, or giving any acknowledgment to what we are doing, mind you. But, should anyone feel so inclined, it could be fun and kind of immersive?

Also, Happy New Year to you all!

Oh I think this is totally fine. It’s really no different than raiding guilds posting weekly progress in their recruitment threads. Also I think Volkar Legion does something similar in their guild thread by dropping updates on the guild’s current story?

I actually put up a Wiki post here where you can do exactly that! I think not so many guilds regularly update the public on their stories as is, though, and it makes me sad.

My guild has always posted our story updates on Tumblr, and it’s worked out really really well for us, and we get a lot of new members through that visibility; we’ll start to do so on the forums now too, I believe.
