Ive been reading up on the warlock nerfs coming and frankly im disappointed in them as i play demo/destro but like destro more cause its flashy. My thought process is, instead of nerfing classes that are doing well how about you buff other classes not doing so hot? Like ret pally, feral druid and a few others. I main ret pally but couldnt play it in 9.1 cause we were essentially a pretty bad pick, that trend continued up until the release of our tier set which we’re reliant upon in order to do good in M+. But even though my score is 2635 (I believe) i still get declined from groups when i should be doing 17-18 style keys. It could be like MoP where every class was insane and everyone actually had fun again.
Plenty of specs were borderline dead weight in mop dungeons.
I dont think so, maybe if you were going for the challenge mode dungeons (I believe MoP introduced those) but not a whole lot were that terrible
I think like half of our buyers were ret and dps druids because nobody would invite them. Rogue was another one but not as many people liked the set, I guess.
For the life of me I will never understand Blizzard’s desire to nerf a class when it is performing well. AOE on my destro is the entire reason I got into warlock in the first place. Nerf it and all that will accomplish is me putting the character on the shelf.
Warlocks are hilariously ahead of everyone else at the moment. The nerfs are extremely justified.
If your solution is to, instead of tuning 1 class, to tune all the rest, you really don’t understand it’s just unnecessary work for doing technically the same thing.
Just accept it was fun while it lasted and move on.
Because nerfing a single massively overperforming spec is easier than buffing a dozen and a half specs by 50-300% to be on the same level, obviously.
This is quite possibly the silliest response ive seen. No, we shouldnt have yo “deal with it” as for it being a lot of work for a billion dollar game company to do…DUH! What do you think their job is? Sitting around picking flowers?
Get nerfed, brother.
Uhm, of course you have to deal with it. They’re OP, and sure being OP it’s fun. It’s just not fair for everyone else.
And again, nerfing 2 clearly ahead specs.
And buffing dozens of specs except those 2 are exactly the same thing. Except the first takes less time and it’s the obvious thing to do, you only need common sense to understand the logic of it.
We’re not just seeing a nerf in AOE, but a significant ST nerf as well. I love playing with the madness legendary, but with these nerfs it looks like it’s back to cinders and probably Demo for raiding.
It was fun while it lasted. And thankfully they are needing survival as well.
Robbing people who play and enjoy those specs, who probably put a lot of time and effort into learning them only to effectively kick them to the back burner is the “logical choice”? Man I hope you dont make serious decisions for anyone. But that aside the logical route would be to start buffing classes, especially ones that have been left in the dirt. It takes more work sure but work more well received and welcomed rather than killing anything that might be percieved as fun
They said they would hold the nerf until the beginning of the season 4 to prevent just what you mentioned.
No one is losing anything. We will see how hard this really hits in regards to total output when it’s live. But given how far ahead they are right now I highly doubt they will be left “in the dirt”, unlike other specs.
There’s literally nothing to be disappointed about.
If anything, it will be about skill. Like it should be.
Hmm, buff 22 dps specs aoe by about 150% or nerf destro and survival?
My guy this game hasnt been about skill since WoTLK where groups had to actually CC mobs. Back on point though i understand the nerfs arent coming till S4 which is in roughly 4 weeks and still plenty of time to reverse course and start looking at buffs. The data itself shows people play more and the company gets more money and subscriptions when people can play what they want and have fun, which is why i bring up MoP again cause when nearly EVERYTHING was busted, player subscriptions are at an all time high
We don’t have to rely on nostalgia, the old game did not have a high skill bar at all.
And MoP lost subs they weren’t at an all time high…

Hmm, buff 22 dps specs aoe by about 150% or nerf destro and survival?
This is a LAZY solution for a LAZY person and a LAZY mindset
Blizz has been nerfing things in the worst way possible all throughout Shadowlands.
They aren’t doing strictly number nerfs like they should. They’re nerfing fun.
They did it with Stellar Drift, Icy Veins, and now the destro 4pc. There’s probably some more I’m forgetting.
Destros AoE simply needed a 25-30% NERF on spells like rain of fire and such. You’re not suppose to completely remove a fun and flashy mechanic from their tier set.
I think it’s time we look into never nerfing classes all together. Start buffing only. There’s never a good time to nerf something and it never feels good. But we’re asking Blizzard to put in a lot of work, so it will never happen

Because nerfing a single massively overperforming spec is easier than buffing a dozen and a half specs by 50-300% to be on the same level, obviously.
Didn’t know we were paying Blizzard to take the easy road, lol.
Destro and Survival are already over performing by a wide margin. They’ve looked at the data for months now. They’re even delaying the nerfs as to not hamstring the people that jumped on the bandwagon.
Stop complaining and enjoy it while it lasts.
